So this low budget indy slasher was released on DVD a while back and is long out of print. Lionsgate is putting it back into print in June.

Check out the trailer here: http://www.bloodnightmovie.com/

At any rate, it's based on a Long Island urban legend and for some reason I have a weird obsession with those. It also appears to tie into the Kings Park Psychiatric Center, which I also have a weird obsession with.

Bill Moseley and Danielle Harris are in it - which could be good or bad I guess. They've both made some great movies and both made some stinkers.

You can read up on the urban legend here (http://truelegends.info/vampires/mary_ketcham.htm) and how it ties into the whole Amityville thing. I have no idea how much of this is true, if any of it, but it's interesting. Some more on it here (http://lioddities.com/Folklore/mary-hatchett.html).

And you pricks tell me *I* need to learn how to spell?? That was a painful article to read.

We never said you were the only one who needed to learn how to spell. Just one of many.

That said, it's kind of a cool story, right?

I've wanted to see this one for a while as 'net reviews were decent enough, but as usual there wasn't a version that had English subs on it (for my wifey) -- but now there is. Thank God Lionsgate do subtitles on their releases.

Btw, aren't the majority of slasher films low budget?

By mainstream cinema standards, yep. But there's low budget and then there's LLOOOOWWW budget. haha. This one looks like it falls somewhere in between.
