For anyone who wondered why I have been so excited over the idea of this one getting a Blu-ray release, here's some examples of what I've had to live with until now...

This is a fine example of how a bad NTSC-PAL standards conversion can make an "okay" transfer look considerably worse than it is, and also why I tend to avoid any kind of standards conversions where I can as invariably they look awful. Umbrella down here pretty much ported Media Blaster's version, and made a fist of it by converting it to PAL. I should note that, these days, Umbrella just do straight NTSC discs where NTSC materials are the source; if only they'd done the same back then...

This should make abundantly clear why the idea of a BD of this film has thrilled me (and yes, it's a bit of a guilty favourite of mine).

PS: Note how I popped the dummy with its arm falling off in for Paul? :)

HA! I definitely put on a big smile when I saw it. Thanks, bud!

I don't see the dummy with the arm falling off. What, the pic of the guy on the ground with people standing around?
