...just in time for Danzig's Legacy Tour with Samhain and Doyle, go figure.

Anyway, it's called Devil's Rain. It has a cover by Arthur Suydum, which is neat.

08-13-2011, 11:56 AM
Too bad the music won't be half as good as the album art.

01. The Devil's Rain
02. Vivid Red
03. Land Of The Dead (album version)
04. The Black Hole
05. Twilight of the Dead (album version)
06. Curse of the Mummy's Hand
07. Cold In Hell
08. Unexplained
09. Dark Shadows
10. Father
11. Jack The Ripper
12. Monkey's Paw
13. Where Do They Go?
14. Sleepwalking
15. Ghost Of Frankenstein
16. Death Ray

Whose doing vocals on it this time around? I like the stuff they did with Graves (most of it at least) but just can't get all the way through Project 1950. Because it's fucking bad.

08-13-2011, 02:59 PM
Yeah, Misfits 95 were a solid MISFITS cover band, but Project 1950 was total shite. Unfortunately they still appear to be a three piece with Jerry struggling on lead throat.

Mark Tolch
08-14-2011, 12:17 PM
Project 1950 was one of the shittiest things I've ever heard.

Ian Jane
08-14-2011, 12:31 PM
The only reason I kept it was because it came with a cool bonus DVD that had some Balzac footage (and if I remember correctly footage of the guys from Agnostic Front bowling).

Ian Jane
11-04-2011, 05:21 PM
OK, so I've heard this now. Once was enough to make up my mind. These guys should just fucking stop it.

This album is complete garbage. Thank you Spotify for saving me $10.00 that I'll now spend on something more useful, like paying someone to kick me in the nuts for an hour, which would be better than listening to this again.

11-04-2011, 06:49 PM
I don't really understand when people try to speak positively of "The Misfits" without Glenn Danzig. I saw them once when they first toured and played with Anthrax. It was laughable, but they were better than expected (for all old songs). But keeping the name going as a three-piece? And with rotating members. Pish.

11-04-2011, 08:45 PM
I done warned you, Ian...

Ian Jane
09-06-2012, 02:17 PM
So after the complete fucking garbage that was Devil's Rain, now Jerry is saying that a reunion with Danzig is possible.

"The question on everybody's mind is will Only and Danzig ever reunite? Only responds: "I could tell you things that would make your head spin. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility right now."

Only holds lots of respect for his former bandmate and seems to want to keep the option open for a reunion. "We are brothers," said Only of Danzig. "Whether we get together and do something again, that's yet to be seen, but if we do it, it's got to be a positive. That would be worth the sacrifice."

I still don't see it happening, but I'd love to be wrong.

Robert W
09-06-2012, 05:48 PM
And Jerry said Doyle would be back in his Misfits as well, and that didn't happen.

As for Glenn, he said the "reunion" shows with Doyle are the closet thing anyone is ever going to see a classic Misfits reunion.

Jack J
09-06-2012, 09:18 PM
"The Misfits Three" should make a reunion band with Metallica (with Lou Reed on vocals), that would be awesome.

09-06-2012, 10:14 PM
Someone needs to pay us a boatload of money for a Misfats' reunion. That'd be about a billion times better.

Mark Tolch
09-07-2012, 11:16 AM
I'd kickstarter contribute to that.

Travis Sheldon
09-08-2012, 01:30 AM
It's painful enough to watch Glenn act like an ass now.

09-08-2012, 02:04 AM
Jerry Only = Desperate.

I'm looking forward to hearing Danzig's cover album after hearing his version of Devil's Angels.

From Punknews.org (http://www.punknews.org/article/50164/misfits-to-release-dead-alive):

On February 5, 2013, the Misfits will be releasing a new live album called Dead Alive. The 14-song album only features music from the band's post-Glenn Danzig era, likely due to the fact that the band only controls the name but not the song rights for the older material. It is dominated by songs from 2011's The Devil's Rain but also includes songs from the Michale Graves-era albums including Famous Monsters and American Psycho. A cover of the Rocky Horror Picture Show's "Science Fiction/Double Feature" rounds out the track listing.

The Devil's Rain
Vivid Red
Land of the Dead
Curse of the Mummy's Hand
Cold in Hell
Dark Shadows
Death Ray
American Psycho
Dig Up Her Bones
Science Fiction/Double Feature
Saturday Night

I'm not going to buy this.

01-04-2013, 02:36 PM
I'm not going to buy this.

I'm proud of you, Ian. This is a big step.

Robert W

I eventually warmed up to the Graves era stuff, but the Jerry/Dez/Robo line-up is just plain sad.

02-06-2013, 09:30 PM
I'm listening to "Misfits" DeA.D. Alive on Spotify right now. I haven't heard this many overdubs on a live album since KI77 Alive II.

I'm listening to "Misfits" DeA.D. Alive on Spotify right now. I haven't heard this many overdubs on a live album since KI77 Alive II.

Especially the Jerry chant at the beginning. The rest of it is horrible too. I don't think I will ever listen to it again.

Ian Jane
02-07-2013, 06:15 PM
I don't need to hear live versions of stuff off of Devil's Rain. Not studio stuff off of Devil's Rain for that matter.

I hated Devil's Rain. It made Project 1950 look awesome.

04-18-2013, 02:17 AM
Doyle put out his solo album Abominator today. Samples HERE (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/doyle3). I'm not too excited by what I'm hearing.

09-19-2013, 12:11 PM
According to Jerry the fake Misfits are putting out 3 more releases this year: a re-release of Project 1950 with extra songs, a new single for Halloween and a Christmas album. I think I will skip these.

Oh, and that Doyle record was actually okay.

Ian Jane
12-04-2013, 05:39 PM
He was selling all sorts of goofy stuff at NYCC back in Oct. BUT, to his credit, he was super friendly and was posing for pictures and signing anything you wanted free of charge.

12-04-2013, 05:52 PM
Did he ask you to join his band?

Ian Jane
12-04-2013, 05:53 PM
He did not. I was kinda disappointed.

12-04-2013, 06:00 PM
Maybe you AND crazy guy could call him up! He doesn't have Dez anymore, no idea about Marky too. Hmm... I smell a funky collaboration cookin'...

Tom Clark
12-04-2013, 06:44 PM
Let me first say that I'm not a Jerry hater nor one of those DANZIG ERA ONLY!!!!!!! Misfits fans. I think Famous Monsters is great and love Project 1950 (What can I say, I've got a thing for 50's music). But there is really no excuse for this. Seriously, what the fuck?!

Ian Jane
12-04-2013, 06:57 PM
I'm not either. I really like American Psycho and Famous Monsters. Project 1950, no, that didn't do it for me. But everything since then has been pretty lame.

With that said, the live album DeadAlive, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Faint praise I guess.

12-04-2013, 07:09 PM
The Graves era albums are pretty fun, but everything released since then has been poop.

The Misfits are now the KI77 of punk rock.

12-04-2013, 07:45 PM
Sad...just so sad...

12-05-2013, 08:40 AM
Maybe you AND crazy guy could call him up! He doesn't have Dez anymore, no idea about Marky too. Hmm... I smell a funky collaboration cookin'...

Marky hasn't played with Jerry for years. I'm not sure if there was a falling out, but recently I heard Marky interviewed on Nerdist podcast where he made the comment "It either has to be with Danzig or Michale Graves or there's no Misfits." It seemed that the host had no idea that Marky had played with them, so there was no follow up to his statement.

12-05-2013, 02:04 PM
I listened to some of each track last night. Pitiful. Just nothing more than drowning the Misfits name in his piss-poor product. Ugh.

Mark Tolch
12-06-2013, 11:22 AM

Girl is a big fan of Project 1950. No idea why.

Ian Jane
06-09-2014, 01:44 PM
Jerry Only hosted a pizza party for a second grade class.

06-30-2014, 04:11 PM
You'd think with all the MISFITS knock-off bands Jerry could find some new talent to regenerate the band.

Ian Jane
05-12-2016, 11:12 AM
Holy shit!

Mark Tolch
05-12-2016, 11:25 AM
That's pretty fuckin crazy. I'm hoping like hell for a tour. Chicago is not that far, but it's not doable in that time frame.

05-12-2016, 11:29 AM
A draft of the contract surfaced a while back but nobody knew if the deal was dead or still in the works.

If they tour beyond these festival shows I am there.

Scott MacDonald
05-13-2016, 04:27 PM
There is no way they won't at least squeeze some expensive festival dates out of this (and since Austin is festival city USA, I'm hoping they come here).

Ian Jane
08-29-2016, 11:47 AM
So Dave Lombardo is going to be drumming for them at Riot Fest? Weird.

Terry C
08-29-2016, 06:16 PM
Word has been surrounding this for awhile now, it's a bit odd, but in someways a fit. I can't imagine them getting Robo to do it considering he can't do a show without a Green-Card/Passport problem.

Really weird - and disappointing - they hired someone else to help play guitar. That being said, they sounded pretty good!

Mark Tolch
09-05-2016, 12:34 PM
I thought they sounded good as well....as for hiring another guitar player, I have a feeling they wouldn't have sounded as good if they hadnt.

09-05-2016, 02:16 PM
Thanks, Ian

I hope these concerts were recorded professionally for BD.

Tom Clark

MISFITS Want Reunion To Continue (http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/misfits-want-reunion-to-continue/)

09-06-2016, 09:40 PM
I read an awful rumor they may tour with Metallica... :(

09-07-2016, 01:57 AM
Coming from Jerry I'm not going to get too excited.

About the added ex-Slade guitarist...
Either they liked the two guitars when Doyle toured with Danzig or Doyle isn't that good live.

One comment suggested people wouldn't know the Misfits without Metallica.
I hate it when people associate great songs with the wrong band.
Songs like So What, Lake Of Fire and my biggest pet peeve Knockin' On Heaven's Door (f*ck off, GnR)

Mark Tolch
09-07-2016, 07:01 AM
The videos are out there, Doyle live is not good.

09-07-2016, 09:10 AM
That's the Misfits, though. They were never EVER known for really being a good band live, haha. Why change now?

09-07-2016, 09:53 AM
Punk has never been a genre known for virtuoso's. :)
That's not to say there aren't any.

09-20-2016, 08:53 PM
Reportedly professional shot.

09-21-2016, 04:20 AM
Looking at the still on that YouTube video, What the hell is Glenn wearing?

09-21-2016, 10:56 AM
It's a stretchy shirt with a leather harness. Not particularly flattering, is it... :D

09-21-2016, 02:13 PM
I'll bet it has a built in girdle :)

I find Only's costume the dumbest.

Ian Jane
01-29-2018, 04:05 PM
I just might be willing to go to NJ for this...

01-30-2018, 09:47 AM
I'm seriously thinking about making the trip from NH to go (roughly 5 hr drive). Would love to see ST & Murphy's too.

Ian Jane

Citicard pre-sale starts at 10am today. I'm hoping to get in on that.

This is going to sell out in minutes once tickets go on sale to the general public.

Ian Jane
01-30-2018, 11:20 AM
Citicard pre-sale starts at 10am today. I'm hoping to get in on that.

And I was on the site at 10am sharp... no luck. Either Ticketmaster's site is fucking up or the Citi pre-sale tickets sold out in roughly 40 seconds.

01-30-2018, 12:09 PM
I don't have a Citicard so I was going to try for either the Ticketmaster or Live Nation Presale @ 10am 1/31. If I can track down either presale code that is ;)

Ian Jane
01-30-2018, 12:26 PM
I think for the Live Nation pre-sale you need to use their app and that's it. So I installed it and will try my luck tomorrow.

Is there a code for the Ticketmaster pre-sale?

There's also a Brooklyn Vegan pre-sale code that they'll announce on their site on Thursday morning before it starts at 10m.

Buying concert tickets sure is a lot more complicated than it used to be.

01-30-2018, 12:57 PM
Looks like a pretty big venue, and I doubt Danzig would turn down cash so I can imagine more dates or a tour.

Hoping for some UK (non festival) dates.

01-30-2018, 03:38 PM
I tried the Citi Card number in the "Standard Presale Passwords" on Ticket Crusader and it worked (of course no tickets available), so maybe the other ones might work?

Ian Jane
01-30-2018, 03:44 PM
Worth trying!

Mark Tolch
01-30-2018, 03:51 PM
250 plus fees for general admission. Unbelievable.

That being said, enough people are snapping them up, so I guess it's an acceptable price. I can't imagine dropping that much on it.

Ian Jane
01-30-2018, 03:59 PM
I was hoping for $50 nose bleeds and couldn't even get those.

01-30-2018, 04:59 PM
You can get Platinum tickets for 198 each, but you have to buy them in pairs.

01-30-2018, 09:23 PM
250 plus fees for general admission.

Jesus fucking hell. No thanks.

Headless Body
01-31-2018, 12:28 AM
It's crazy that ticket prices are so high and apparently there is enough demand for it. I mean, I'd go if they played close to me and it was cheap, but otherwise I'm not too excited about these shows. Danzig's voice has always been hit or miss live, Lombardo is overkill for the material, and is Doyle even plugged in? The whole thing is just weird. I'd be much more excited if they'd do a new album.

Newt Cox
01-31-2018, 04:18 AM
I have wanted to see Danzig era Misfits live since I first heard the band in 85. But no way am I paying over 100 bucks for a single ticket. Maybe a live album will get released or at least a concert dvd. Found a shitty bootleg of them playing Vegas recently. It sounded like shit.

Ian Jane
01-31-2018, 11:08 AM
I got an email from Live Nation last night confirming the ACCESS presale code would work.

It doesn't.

01-31-2018, 11:42 AM
I got it to work. Keep trying. I ended up getting 2 $129 seats in section 126.

Ian Jane
01-31-2018, 11:46 AM
For the first 25 minutes or so it kept telling me the code was invalid. Now it works, but the $69 seats are gone. I'm not paying more than that for this.

Will try again tomorrow with the BV code and Friday with the general sale.

01-31-2018, 11:46 AM
You use the pick your own seat link

the "we'll find seats for you" one

Ian Jane
01-31-2018, 12:15 PM
Yeah, I'm trying to get four of the cheap seats together but it's not happening.

Will try again tomorrow and Thursday!

01-31-2018, 12:15 PM
I ended up with 1 seat in 2 rows, one in front of the other. Currently there are two $69 seats like that in section 208 if you use the pick your own seat link

Ian Jane
01-31-2018, 12:28 PM
I'm gonna try my luck again tomorrow. Obviously the presales are opening different blocks.

I'm also pretty sure we're going to see a 2nd show added pretty soon. There's just too much easy money for these guys to make for them not to do it.

02-01-2018, 11:54 AM
Using code ORIGINAL there's a whole row of $69 seats in section 230

Ian Jane
02-01-2018, 12:27 PM
Looks like they're gone.

BVCASUALTY opens up some other options (I actually managed to get 4 tickets together) but at this point, $70 plus service charge per ticket plus transportation... I think I'm bailing.

Mark Tolch
02-01-2018, 02:23 PM
Gotta be honest, I don't think that I'd want to see the Misfits in a venue that large. An outdoor festival would be the exception, I guess, but seeing the Misfits from the nosebleeds? I just don't see that as being fun.

Ian Jane
02-07-2018, 10:30 AM
Harley Flanagan added to the NJ show.
