Hugh Hefner apparently posted to Twitter on Friday that former Playmate and actress Cynthia Myers passed away at age 61. Erica Gavin has since confirmed on facebook and twitter. Very sad. Cynthia was my favourite doll in Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and just always seemed like a genuinely nice person. RIP, Cynthia.

Very sad news. I know she didn't act much outside of BTVOTD but she ruled in that movie.

Plus, they used her old pics for the rebirth of Schlitz campaign. Totally hot.

I hate Schlitz, but I would drink it just because of those ads. Smokin.

Last year or two years ago, they went back to the original recipe, so you may like it now.

What's the original recipe? Carbonated urine?

Has it been stated anywhere how she died yet?

Listen pal, just 'cause you can't look at a beer without getting a migraine and having to lay down and rest until winter is no reason to bash Schlitz.

naw man. Beer wasn't the problem. It's certain food. I drink beer a lot now. Schlitz = shitz. Free country (for now)...I can bash whatever I want to.

Now get back to Ms. Myers and her untimely death.

Eat me.

Now get back to Ms. Myers and her untimely death.

I agree.

It's been a week. Has anything definitive been in the news concerning Cynthia Myers' passing yet? I find nothing other than Hefner's tweet.

Erica Gavin posted this on facebook...

"Cynthia Myers, Playboy's Miss December 1968 and one of the Top 100 Centerfolds of the Century passed away from cancer Saturday November 5th at approximately 2 a.m. after a year long illness that she suffered in silence as she, also, cared for her husband who, also, had cancer and died in September just a little over a month before she herself did. She is survived by her son, Robert, and his wife,..."

Her son posted this on Facebook:

"Cynthia Myers, Playboy's Miss December 1968 and one of the Top 100 Centerfolds of the Century passed away from cancer Saturday November 5th at approximately 2 a.m. after a year long illness that she suffered in silence as she, also, cared for her husband who, also, had cancer and died in September just a little over a month before she herself did. She is survived by her son, Robert, and his wife, ...Bridget. Unfortunately, due to both parents illnesses there is no funding for a Chapel to hold the Memorial Service, nor for Cynthia's cremation. While I am a Playmate Sister, as well, I am, also, a Minister and have offered my services to conduct her Memorial Gathering. I am raising money for Cynthia once again, for those who recall when I raised funds to help her when she broke her neck and arm several years ago. Only this time it is to assist in memorializing her, one of the most gracious and beautiful Playmates of all time.

Please, help me to give Cynthia a fitting Gathering in Remembrance for the special Spirit that she was and continues to be..."

So she looked after her husband who also had cancer, he died, and then she went a month later. The whole thing is very sad. :(

Yeah, it's incredibly sad how this all played out. I'm not loaded right now, not this time of year, but I made a donation too. Every bit helps, I'm sure.

Yup, I agree. I'm really short on cash with all of the craziness around here, but made a small donation.
