Coming next year (July 2012) from Glitter press:
"Between 1970 and 1974, numerous Japanese film companies - in particular Nikkatsu and Toei - produced dozens of films in a new sub-genre which combined action, sex, violence and crime, and was dominated by ruthless and deadly delinquent females. This sub-genre, which Toei would eventually dominate and define, is now known as pinky violence. With such series as Girl Boss, Girls' High School Terror, and Female Prisoner: Scorpion, as well as individual films like Ranking Boss Rock and Criminal Women: Killing Melody, Toei created a cinematic world filled with nudity, sex, cat-fights, torture, rape and revenge, and peopled by very, very bad girls - renegade cops, girl gang leaders, rebel highschool girls, female convicts - who stripped off their clothes as readily as they pulled out a gun or a knife. TOKYO GRINDHOUSE Volume One is the first English-language book publication devoted to this brief but highly influential 70s movie craze for sexy bad girl action, whose themes have more recently been echoed and revived in films such as Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill and Death Proof. The book contains an extensive introductory history by Jack Hunter, as well as illustrated sections on all the main pinky violence series and one-offs. It is printed in full-colour throughout, with over 140 rare images of film posters and publicity shots, plus nude glamour galleries of leading pinky violence stars Reiko Ike and Miki Sugimoto."

The good news: this looks like a good book covering a great subject. The bad news: if I read it, I will begin spending far too much money expanding my pinky violence DVD collection.

Yeah, it's Jack Hunter who did the EROS IN HELL and HOUSE OF HORROR books for creation back in the 90s. Good books. He's also doing the upcoming Glitter Press book about classic porn starlets as well. The one with Rene Bond on the cover.

Cool! I be getting this too then. The other book on classic starlets sounds great.

If you do a search for him on Amazon, it seems Hunter also wrote books on Salo, Nazi exploitation films, Uschi Digard and a few other rad subjects.

Whoah, just discovered this site: http://www.creationbooksfraud.com/aliases.html

Seems well documented that 'Jack Hunter' is a crook and Creation Books a shady scam, too bad, I have a few Creation books and apparently few if any of the authors saw any of the money I spent on their books.

I heard about that awhile back, Randy. Pretty shocking.

It's also worth noting that the porn starlets book that "Jack Hunter" just put out is a scab of shit. Not worth the money. Terrible photo reproductions mixed with half decent ones, no writing or context given whatsoever. Haven't seen the pinky violence book in person yet.

I found a copy at Countermedia, it was a pretty thin, practically no writing and full of photos. With the likes of the awesome Behind the Pink Curtain available I'd say this would be a waste of money.
