These are now up on Amazon. Disney is apparantly taking a page out of Warner, MGM and Universal's book and doing the MOD thing for some of their lesser catalogue titles.

Looks like this is mostly made for TV stuff? I don't think these three played theatrically, I could be wrong though. They've got some interesting stuff in their archives that I'd like to see released (these three initial titles, meh, I don't really care about).

Yeah, those bastard need to re-release Dr. Syn since I missed it the first time around.

I became a member of the "Disney Movie Club" so as to take advantage of their "exclusive" pressed DVDs of masterworks like SUPERDAD (where Bob Crane plays a father who thinks ne'er-do-well Kurt Russell isn't good enough for his daughter) and CHARLEY AND THE ANGEL (where Fred MacMurray plays a father who thinks ne'er-do-well Kurt Russell isn't good enough for his daughter.) It looks like there are about seven of these new "Generations" discs, only three of which are even available on the Disney site. I had to order the one I was interested in from Amazon--CHILD OF GLASS, with Olivia Barrash and the girl who played Violet Beauregarde for me to perv on.

Damn straight, Dave.
That title was out for what less than a month before selling out?
Was really looking forward to that set when I checked online it was gone.

That was pretty much my story...I was higly anticipating this one, figured I'd pick it up soon, and then suddenly it was gone. Used prices on Dr. Syn at amazon.com start at $189.95(!). Disney's attitude seems pretty ridiculous -- they could obviously press more and make money, but instead they just sit on the thing. I have a bootlegged dvd-r of this, but it looks like ass (and not in a good way).

Received CHILD OF GLASS and it is indeed purple. Made from a lame-ass old tape master as I expected, but so are many of their live-action DVDs. I wonder if Disney got stuck with a shit load of those pressed "exclusive" titles for their website/club, so decided to play it even safer with MOD.
