Just in time for my birthday!

EVR (http://www.eastvillageradio.com/content/content.php?id=3207) says:

"One of our favorite bands of all time, Melvins, are prepping a new LP to be released on June 5th. Titled Freak Puke, the record features the “lite” Melvins lineup featuring stalwarts Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover along with Mr. Bungle bassist Trevor Dunn, and will be thrust upon the world via Mike Patton’s Ipecac label. This news comes on the heels of the revelation that a new 12” single series pairing live Melvins jams from their Sugar Daddy album with tracks from operating and defunct bands is in the works. To be birthed by Amphetamine Reptile, the Sugar Daddy Splits series will have 13 volumes and confirmed “collaborators” include legendary noise-rockers Cows, Northwest punks U-Men, hardcore supergroup OFF!, rock lifers Mudhoney, consummate weirdos Butthole Surfers, among others."
All signs point to potential awesomeness.

I saw them open for NoMeansNo years ago. I was absolutely shitfaced, no recollection of them at all.

We can go on a date together. With each other, I mean. I'll bring a brownie. The kind you eat, not my brownie, I mean.

Yeah, fuckin' nightmare brownies.

I swear I thought I was gonna be chopped up by Asian butchers down in that torture chamber they called a bathroom at King Yum.

Lightweight. They're awesome to eat when going to a baseball game. Except last time I laughed so hard I lost consciousness for a few seconds.

You just can't handle N.H. grown radness.

So in addition to the stuff already mentioned, they're also releasing a free EP for download in March.

http://www.punknews.org/article/46307

"Prior to that release, the band will be releasing The Bulls and the Bess on March 13, 2012 (http://www.rockshockpop.com/releasedetail/5466). The free digital EP is being released through Scion A/V (http://www.scionav.com/index), the unusual label (http://www.rockshockpop.com/article/44572) formed by Toyota (http://www.toyota.com/) to coincide with the eponymous vehicle."

Anyone else digging King Buzzo's This Machine Kills Artists solo album?

Took a while to grow on me for some reason but I'm playing it a lot lately.

Could just be a weird phase.

I like it, but don't listen to it too much. His solo tour was pretty solid, though. Interesting to see his motions/actions without a band behind him. Plus, he bantered for a while and that was fun.

He played a small venue here a month or so ago but I didn't find out about it until afterwards. If he comes back, I'll go check him out.

After Buzzo wraps up this solo tour he's back on the road in the fall with the Melvins and a couple of Butthole Surfers in the fold.

New song is great as ever. Melvins are one of those bands thought that I'd get the album without hearing anything from it.
