After seeing the trailer for this movie a month or so ago, I was EAGER to watch what appeared to be the most batshit, amazing, unique movie ever....

Surely I would be disappointed when I get to see it right?....I feared this.......

But now it seems like it is a movie that lives up to its trailer...

From the TWITCH review...

There is a reason that S.S. Rajamouli is considered the most innovative director in the Telugu film industry, and Eega is the perfect illustration of why he deserves to wear that crown. The film is completely insane, endlessly enjoyable, and absolutely unique. Eega is the best film about a man reincarnated as a housefly avenging his own murder that you will ever see. ........Incredible action sequences, inventive storytelling, technical excellence, and laughs and gasps that just keep coming; Eega has it all.

and I want to see it more than anything...Dark Knight can wait....

Looks unique at least! I'll give it that! And in this day and age, that's a lot.

My favorite part of the review....

There's a training montage with the fly lifting weights and running on a makeshift treadmill for Christ's sake! And it doesn't feel out of place AT ALL.

Here's the trailer for those that missed it..... (the first half of the trailer misleads you immensely into what kind of film it is....)

I pronounce this word and the film title the exact same way, so I thought this was a fun joke. The flick looks pretty interesting, though.

LOL..never thought of that..purely coincidence as I DO NOT have an American accent I pronounce it slightly different....but I can see your point now:biggrin:

Anyhow, I presume it means "FLY" as they say it a lot in the interviews for the movie....

Well...just finished watching this one...and what can I say......

It EXCEEDED my expectations..

It last 2 1/4 hours...but doesn't drag at all....

Highlights included......

ROCKY-style training sequence....
Evil bad guy driven mad by annoying fly!
FINAL DESTINATION type traps executed by the fly!
FLY gets a dance sequence over the end credits....
Indian witch doctors summoning the supernatural through flaming pentagons!
Possessed sparrow birds!!
Tiny weapons and mask!
Catchy tunes!

Really, I cannot believe how much i enjoyed this movie.....Its not great ART or DEEP movie...but entertaining as hell..CGI is a bit ropey sometimes...but considering how much of it is in the movie that is well done, can be overlooked...cool placing of the interval too!

I still need to see this. I didn't see this in my local shop last weekend, but I wasn't specifically looking for it either. I think this will move to the top of my list.

Here's another trailer.

There probably aren't a ton of you in the US reading this that are trying to hunt this down but if you want a copy, www.njmtv.com is based in NJ and they ship fast. I ordered it Sat. evening, it shipped this morning. I should have it in a couple of days.

Same with mine...Was surprised because the Bollywood movies rarely have the songs subbed as far as i know....

Rowdy Rathore had the songs subbed too. Commando did not.

I didn't watch the whole movie last night, just skimmed it, but assuming the chapter selection is set up to cover all the songs, this movie only has two!

Will try and get around to reviewing it next week.

From what I've been told, "Eecha"( the Malayalam blu ray version of "Eega") is the best looking version of the movie.

I watched the 1st hour and a half last night and was digging it quite a bit... but then I hit the wall and fell asleep. I woke up with the menu on repeat and that crazy fly singing away.
