My wife and I have been keeping it for 4 years, mostly as a way to keep track of the animals (with an accent on reptiles and amphibians) that we see on our hikes.

Anyhoo, it's called Hit Me with Your Nature Stick and it's here:

We've gotten fairly good with the camera over the past few years and since this is a photo heavy blog, I think that's a good thing.

So, nothing groundbreaking but if you want to see pics of snakes and turtles and frogs and the like, take a peek. Go back to early July for a beautiful Copperhead, our only venomous snake so far.

I've been checking that out by way of your facebook links for a while now. I dig it.

It's fun to take pictures of animals and you guys find some cool ones.

Thanks! We're hoping to see something different this weekend when we go to upstate NY, though I'm not sure what! (My sister has Green Snakes in her yard...)

My hometown, Rome, to see my sister('s yard and look for snakes). I'll be stopping by Halo Tattoo in Syracuse as well to get a little more Al Feldstein art on my arm!

We were just in Syracuse last weekend. The Motel 6 is full of potheads!

I admire your snake hunting skills. I never see snakes in the woods and stuff, probably because I don't know where to look.

I did see quite a few cool turtles last week in Canada though. Turtles are awesome.

At the risk of sounding like "zombie kid", I love turtles! It's been a good year for them!

You'll enjoy this week's installment... I got more water snake bites in an hour and a half than I have in the previous 50 years! I was a bloody mess.

Mike -- Did you happen to see the article today (I forget if it was on Discovery or i09) about the entomologist who discovered a new species of dragonfly by browsing someone's nature photo tumblr?

I didn't see that Apronikoff! How cool! I'm going to find it!

I just posted my trip to central New York state... I got brutalized by water snakes.
