Just saw these listed on the Arrow website and hadn't heard any mention of them here, so thought I'd share the news. Dallamano is one of my favorite Italian genre directors, so I'm pretty damn psyched for these:

The Night Child

http://www.arrowfilms.co.uk/images/titles/NIGHT_CHILD_2D_DVD_compressed.jpg

Starring: Richard Johnson, Joanna Cassidy and Ida Galli
Directed by: Massimo Dallamano
Rating: TBC
Duration: 88 mins

Overview: YOU’LL NEED MORE THAN AN EXORCIST TO SAVE THE NIGHT CHILD

When a documentarian delves into the dark world of satanic art for a new film, he unearths a disturbing painting that leads him into a world of post-Exorcist Italo-Horror where cursed medallions, possessed children and the overwhelming power of the dark lord converge to create a visually stunning and wildly eccentric exploitation classic from Massimo Dallamano (Venus in Furs, What Have You Done With Solange?)

With Italian cult cinema child star Nicoletta Elmi (Who Saw Her Die?, A Bay of Blood) as the motherless, demon-demented daughter and Zombie Flesh Eaters’ Richard Johnson as the filmmaker searching for the evil truth, The Night Child is a perfect example of expertly shot, beautifully crafted B-cinema.

See a young girl descend into the hellish pit of demonic possession in The Night Child, a textbook example of 70s euro-horror from an Italian exploitation master.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
- New widescreen transfer in the original ratio
- Newly translated optional English subtitles
- Optional English and Italian audio tracks
- EXORCISM ITALIAN-STYLE: Author and critic Paolo Zelati, filmmaker Luigi Cozzi and screenwriter Antonio Tentori reflect on the brief boom in pasta-possession movies which rushed out of Rome in the wake of William Friedkin's classic THE EXORCIST
- Original Italian and US trailers
- Collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by author and critic Calum Waddell
- Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Graham Humphreys

Super Bitch

Starring: Ivan Rassimov, Stephanie Beacham and Patricia Hayes
Directed by: Massimo Dallamano
Rating: TBC
Duration: 94 mins

Overview: THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU HIRE HER

Blue movie blackmail and sexual depravity are at the heart of a wicked scam to manipulate rich, perverted men in this softcore pasta crime classic from Massimo Dallamano, cinematographer on A Fistful of Dollars and director of Giallo favourite What Have You Done To Solange?

Italian trash cinema icon Ivan Rassimov is a police inspector working undercover to expose a London escort agency where the frequently naked Stephanie Beacham is being filmed in sexually compromising situations with her moneyed clients. These poor chumps will soon be smuggling drugs across international borders for her and her shadowy associates.

Wallow in the sleaze and enjoy the depravity of Super Bitch, a film with all the car chases, murder, sex and moral ambiguity a cult movie fan could possibly want.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
- New widescreen transfer in the original ratio
- Newly translated optional English subtitles
- Optional English and Italian audio tracks
- BULLETS, BABES AND BLOOD: THE HIGH OCTANE ACTION OF THE ITALIAN POLICE FILM - Legendary directors Ruggero Deodato, Sergio Martino and Brit filmmaker Darren Ward and critic Paolo Zelati, discuss the sex, style and shootouts that typified the Italian crime-caper
- RUGGERO DEODATO REMEMBERS IVAN RASSIMOV - An affectionate look back at the veteran Italian exploitation actor and SUPER BITCH leading man
- Collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by author and critic Calum Waddell
- Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Graham Humphreys

I already have The Night Child from Code Red but am intrigued by Super Bitch - I don't think that's been released in any other territories yet?

Nice covers.

It's released in Italy under the title Si può essere più bastardi dell'ispettore Cliff ?, by IIF, with english audio.

Night Child is released by the same company as well, under the title Il medaglione insanguinato (italian language with english subs).

I wonder if these will be the same transfers?

I have two dvds of THE NIGHT CHILD aka THE CURSED MEDALLION already so I'll probably pass on that. I also have two fandubs of SUPERBITCH but would like to get a pressed disc. It's a good one, an extremely convoluted (but in a good way) story with lots of double and triple crossings going on. Also has some pretty funny moments, one of the criminal gangs in the film is led by Mama The Turk and her gang sings a song to her at one point. Quite violent flick too, and it has a cool Riz Ortolani score.

The Dallamano film that really needs a dvd release is A BLACK VEIL FOR LISA, I only have fullscreen dvd-r of that one.

I'll buy SUPERBITCH, as I haven't bought the Italian DVD yet, but I'm satisfied with the Italian DVD release of THE CURSED MEDALLION and probably won't double-dip on that title.

I'd like to see BLACK VEIL get a DVD release too. I've got an old VHS release, but would gladly upgrade to a decent (or even semi-decent) DVD.

From the already available DVD versions of The Night Child, which one would you guys recommend?

I've only seen the Italian DVD release, but it's more than adequate - and at the moment it can be snagged for 5 Euros plus postage: http://www.amazon.it/Il-Medaglione-Insanguinato-Evelyn-Stewart/dp/B000F0H79C/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345547844&sr=8-1-spell

I know that the Code Red Night Child has alternate scenes compared to the Italian DVD. Are those alternate scenes worth picking up the Italian disc for? I am so tired of rebuying stuff but if it is worth it, I guess I have to buck up...lol

I have both the Italian dvd and the Code Red, the Italian disc has optional english subs while the CR has the english dub. The Italian cut of the film is the "horror" version, with some extra scenes involving the flashbacks with Nicoletta Elmi. I love the film so I'm glad to have both - particularly since Richard Johnson did his own dubbing for the english language version - but I don't know that the Italian dvd is essential. Really depends on how much this film means to you.

DVD Beaver has reviews up for both of these titles. It looks like the transfers are the same as on the Italian discs, but the Arrow releases have Italian audio (with subs) and English dubs for both titles.

Ha! I've done that before...

I watched Super Bitch the other day. Really dug that one. Very colorful Euro-Crime packed with action, sleaze and double-crosses...

The disc is really nice. The transfer is quite good and there's a really cool feature on Italian crime movies with some cool interviews in it...

Diabolik has both of these in stock, but only 4 copies each as of now.

SUPER BITCH (http://www.diabolikdvd.com/category/Euro-Trash/Super-Bitch-DVD-(Arrow-UK)-(PAL-All-Region).html)

NIGHT CHILD (http://www.diabolikdvd.com/category/Horror-[sl]-Thriller/Night-Child-DVD-(Arrow-UK)-(PAL-All-Region).html)

I sprang for SB but I'm good on NC.

Does anyone know if the Apprehensive Films DVD of SUPER BITCH is legit? perhaps the same as the Arrow?

I got the Arrows, but it would be nice to hear the audio and see the motion at the proper pitch (in region 1 NTSC that is) and I'll buy it again for that.

Everything about Apprehensive seems like BS to me.

I have the Apprehensive disc, the quality is pretty lame.
