This is too goofy not to start a thread on.

From Bloody Disgusting's article (http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3193172/new-album-necrofusion-uses-actual-evp-recordings/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter):

Zak Bagans, the host of the Travel Channel’s popular paranormal show Ghost Adventures, has teamed up with Lord Of Acid‘s Praga Khan to release an album entitled NecroFusion, which will be released Oct. 23rd (Halloween music anyone?). The album will feature 11 tracks, each telling the story of a different spirit. Each track will also use actual EVP recordings of the ghost in question, making these “true stories”. Khan wrote and recorded the music while Bagans wrote the lyrics and provided spoken word/vocals for the tracks.

Khan states, “Working on this album was one great experience from start to finish. When Zak came up with the idea to record an album with EVPs, I was both surprised and excited. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. When he sent me the audio files that he had recorded with his Spirit Box and I listened to them, I really freaked out. This was scary stuff.”

Bagans adds, “For me, spirit communication is the most powerful communication I’ve ever encountered. The most powerful messages are delivered through music, and music truly influences the way you feel, it stimulates the emotional memories of your life. With ‘NecroFusioin,’ we’ve blended together these two powerful forms of communication – spirit and music. And the earthbound spirits have a lot to say.”

For three weeks, at 3am every night, Bagans conducted recording sessions in his “home dungeon” where Poltergeist activity is common. He recorded two spirits there, and what they communicated is what the track “In My Dungeon” was built upon. For “Good and Evil,” Bagans established intelligent, two-way communication with a spirit, and he carries on an extended conversation with another spirit on “Immortal Portal.”

“On some of the songs, you’ll hear me communicating with the spirits. Probably the most emotional track on the album for me is “Sing with Me.” I deliberately asked a female spirit to sing for me, and she did, we actually got her to sing.” says Bagans.

According to Khan, strange things began happening once the recording process began: “Maybe it was a coincidence, but a lot of strange stuff happened during the making of the album. Audio files started to disappear, files that I never deleted, the computer started to crash daily, my sound technician got really sick a few days after the start of the album and ended up in the hospital. But the strangest thing of all was that the cat who practically lived at our studio, simply refused to enter the building while we were working on the ‘NecroFusion’ album.”

Directly from the press release, the explanation of one of the tracks is slightly unsettling: ““Poor Pearl” tells the tale of 22-year old Pearl Bryan from Indiana who was murdered and decapitated in 1896. Her headless body was found not far from a slaughterhouse, a site that some speculate was a place of devil worship and dark rituals, and is haunted by one of her killers. Today it is a club called Bobby Mackey’s Music World, near Cincinnati, and known as “the most haunted nightclub in the USA.” Bagans and his “Ghost Adventures” crew have spent a fair amount of time there, and during one of his Spirit Box sessions, he stated to a spirit, “I think Pearl is safe now from her killers.” The spirit’s chilling response was recorded: “Is she?” and that original audio is woven into this track.”

My girlfriend and I watched Bagans and Crew on the weekend on some eps of GHOST ADVENTURES. I hadn't seen the show before, and I laughed like hell. Alot of "Did you hear that?", "This is what the spirit is saying", overreacting cameramen running away hysterically at the slightest sound, and chest beating/challenging ghosts by Bagans and his merry band of idiots. It's amusing for about two eps, then it descends into the hilarious.

The above project looks laughably bad.

Yeah, Zac is awesome. The other GA guys are funny too but Zac just goes nuts. My favorite episode is the one where he gets possessed.

I want to guest star on an episode of Ghost Adventures some day.
