I'm kind of obsessed with this place. Have made a few trips out there and want to go back now that it's creepy fall/winter season. It's an eerie joint even if vandals have worked it over pretty good and taken away from its atmosphere.

Some random pictures, just becuse:

This is a fascinating set. There are a few abandoned mental hospitals around here that we're planning on trying to "visit" next year.

Where are you located, Mike?

There's a few more around here I've yet to make it to.

In Boston... there have been a few around here, but they've been getting demolished. The SESSION 9 one was here (in Danvers) and it's gone now. The Fernald Home for Idiotic Children (seriously!) still stands and we want to explore that before it's gone. At least a photo op with the sign, if there is one!

I've read up on a few in MA, sounds like there were some interesting ones there. NY and NJ still have more than you'd think.

Boston isn't too far from Portland...we can crash at Paulie's mom's!

We have room here... (Oh shit, my wife will kill me for that!).

I have a few friends around here that want to do this Abandoned Psych Hospital Crawl too!

I was just emailing back and forth with Todd about visiting Maine in the warmer weather. Maybe we could stop in MA on the way and hit up some oddities.

This is gonna happen. The more I think about it, the more I like it. We can egg the Casa Del Casey on the way by.

He'd just lick it all up like a bukkake.

Post bukkake tongue bath artists are supremely overlooked.

Some shots from June when we went with Todd and checked out a different building. Also Todd peed in the woods.

Ian Jane

Yep. You have a weird pointy head. I remember Horamce saying that the first time you came to visit.

Todd Jordan

SHUT IT. I don't have a pointy head. You know what I mean.

It's a pretty neat place. Very bright though and you can't really (safely) get into most of the buildings. There was one little house/shed/whoknowswhat that wasn't sealed that we got into. The places are so dirty though that you really wouldn't want to touch anything!

Ian Jane

You can get into a lot of the buildings safely, just not legally. haha. It's very well patrolled - but we've seen plenty of openings.

Ian,
I love these pics. I live about a quarter mile from this place, I go to it often. This month they are scheduled to demolish 15 of the buildings!

Long Island represent!

I saw news article noting that it was slated for demo this year. Sad that they're not doing more to try and save it. Some of the structures are amazing. Such a waste - but such a fascinating place.

Todd Jordan

burn it all down and make a Target.

Ian Jane
08-05-2012, 02:27 PM
Looks like they've started tearing down some of the buildings that were in the worst shape.

An interesting NY Times article here (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/05/opinion/sunday/erasing-the-past-at-the-ghost-hospital.html).

The big ass smoke stack from the power buildings is set to be demolished tomorrow.

There's also evidently a documentary on this place in the works....
