Anyone know anything about this?

"For over seven years Vagrancy Films have been destroying movie theatres all over North America. Their distinct "fuck with the audience" approach to movie exhibition have earned them the title as Canada's Grindhouse Champions.

After being rejected by several major players in the home video scene, Vagrancy decided to take the bull by the horns and issue the ultimate trailer clip cluster fuck. These Ontario Scumbags scoured their rusty vinegar archives and came up with two solid hours of pure 35mm bliss. Their clips, food ads and trailers were professionally lab scanned in HD in the USA and then sent back to these freaks of the North where they assembled them to video with all the TLC that two asshole's can muster. If your looking for pussy clean phony transfers of shit you've already seen a millions times than CCMC is probably not for you...But you like your shit fast and dirty with a side order of skank than this is your 2012 dream boat release."

It's an all region BD-R with commentary.

I kinda wanna get this just to have it on my shelf.

Press release sounds too desperate.

Agreed. It's Canadian so i like it, but it sounds a little much like, "You think you like shitty GRINDHOUSE STUFF? We're the GRINDIEST OF THE BUNCH and we're so hardcore we don't even care!!!!!!

This review (http://dailygrindhouse.com/reviews/colour-correct-my-cock-2012/) gives the list of trailers and it sounds fantastic. I will own this.

I can't wait to own film sourced trailers of THE ABDUCTORS and Lyle Alzado's DESTOYER.

Nice find Jason.

There's some pretty esoteric stuff on there.

Yeah. I like trailer comps, and this one looks like it might be interesting. But the self-aggarandizing tone of the press release makes me want to have nothing to do with it...

What a randomly assembled title. Are they going to call part 2 Cannibal Ninja Jew?

Marshall Crist

I believe it's more of a "mixtape" and some of the trailers are not complete. The only thing on there that really grabs me is finally having the GHETTO FREAKS trailer on a round piece of plastic; probably gonna pass.

Vagrancy Films

Actually it's trailers (complete) various food concession ads, commercials, theatre policy snipes and plenty of foreign XXX footage. There's also a video intro explaining a bit of the back story how we offered these clips to others studios but were rejected because they were either too beat up, didn't like the genre's we chose, or had no subtitles. Since I played these in movie theatres multiple times I figured I know better than anyone what works and what don't in a theatrical setting cause I was there first hand to see the audience's reaction.

And yeah we are so hard core we don't even care (although I am very grateful for the sales at Diabolik)

There's a Blu/DVD of Italy's GOBLIN playing live at SHOCK STOCK here in Ontario Canada from Last Year - Just tweaking that right now (few copies were sold at Cinema Wasteland) Also trying to obtain the rights for a lost 42nd Street classic from 1972 - Don't want to jinx it but I will post it here once we confirm.

Not sure what part of Canada you are located from Mark but we've been doing screenings in London and Toronto since 2005. Colour Correct my Cock was screened in it's entirety via 35mm at the Toronto Underground with Destroyer as the 2nd movie this past summer.

Our prints have also been used all over Canada -

With 35mm now practically dead the primary goal of the project was to archive some of the gems we've played during this period. With all Cinemas now almost entirely digital my heart is not in it as much

I also co-produce SHOCK STOCK

Christina Lindberg will be making her first ever Canadian Appearance and we will be screening one of her films in 35mm (looking like Maid in Sweden at this point)

Sadly, I'm in between Toronto and London (Kitchener), but am rarely in the loop on these events. I will do my best to make it to London this April.

So I bought this the other day and it showed up yesterday. Got home, popped it in my PS3, played about 30 minutes or so and then.... GRRRINNNDDDDDD. Not good. The disc is spinning and something is making a weird flapping noise inside my player. I try the whole 'bottom screw force disc out' technique Sony says will manually eject the disc, no dice. Hold the power button and the eject button to try and force it out, nope. Not gonna happen. After dicking around with this for about 40 minutes or so, I realize there was little white lable on the BD-R and figure that's what is causing the flapping/grinding noise. So I take a butter knife and fish around inside the slot loader on the PS3. After a minute or two, I manage to pull the label out. I power up, eject the disc, it comes out. I put it back in (without the label on it) and everything is fine. I have to admit I was pretty pissed until I got it out of there with no harm done.

Soooo..... if you buy this, you might want to take the little white label off of the disc if you're going to play it on a PS3. If you use a tray loading player it might not be such a big deal (I didn't try it in my tray loader, the PS3 is my 'go to' machine) but I got lucky. If that disc had come off and gotten pulled into the machine Colour Correct My Cock could have fucked up my player and then I would have had to go online and say horrible things about it. But now I don't - instead I'm posting this as a warning because I know a lot of people use PS3s for Blu-ray.

At any rate, got about half way through the disc last night and it's got some great stuff on it. A few people have called it a mix tape as much as a trailer compilation and in a lot of ways that's true because you get weird commercials and clips in amongst the actual trailers. There's some pretty obscure stuff here, presented 'pinky' and 'stinky' with no color correction or restoration done at all - which is kind of the point. It's a fun disc (so long as it doesn't try to kill your player) and I look forward to finishing it tonight. Canadians in particular will get a kick out of some of the none trailer content that's been included here.

CCMC is a blast. The intro was a bit of a head scratchier, but I like that it explained the crude title. I did enjoy the random craziness and sleaze throughout. Does anyone know what those hardcore samurai clips are from? The highlight for me was DESTROYER and all of the West German porn. Really, I was entertained throughout.

As much as I enjoyed CCMC, if it was Synapse that turned them down I'm glad it happened. I adore the 42nd Street Forever series and this is something completely different. I wouldn't want CCMC to take the place of a 42nd release. I can deal with but don't appreciate the "pinky and stinky". There are times when its appropriate, but in the case of THE ABDUCTORS I was really hoping for a trailer of the same quality that Synapse has with GINGER on 42ndSF.

I hope Vagrancy Films hasn't shot their load with CCMC and we see a sequel next year. And if anyone knows where I can find a quality copy of "Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie sie wirklich war: 2. Teil (1976)" or "Biggi - Ein ganz superreifes Fruchtchen" please please let me know. ;)

Thanks for the tip Ian. The label was peeling up on my copy and due to your tip I just removed it before I put it in my player.

For those looking to track down some of these this list might help. I verified the order and put the title that shows on IMDB in parentheses.

Is the GHETTO FREAKS trailer the "good" one with the over-the-top narration? More or less complete and watchable quality A/V?

It's got over-the-top narration. Unfortunately its the most pinky and stinky of the bunch. It also seems like it cuts off well before it should.

Couple things...GOBLIN Blu/Ray yes send an email to info@shock-stock.com we can hook you up

CCMC part 2 ? - Yes it will happen but I can't give an exact date - We hit a major score of film a few weeks ago and plan on putting out 3 or so full features before we get around to another edition of COCK.

I'll post all the news and title names once we get the stuff back from the lab -

Finally got around to watching my copy, and really enjoyed it.

What I like about COLOUR CORRECT MY COCK is that it isn't just another trailer compilation. I mean, yawn -- we've all seen those. It's more like a mixtape that celebrates found film snippets. It's totally as if you were told you could go into the projection booth of an old grindhouse theater and collect all the trimmings and trailer reels together off the floor and then tape them together on one spool of film, and take it home. That's totally what this is, and the real fun of it is wondering what is coming next!

That reminds me--a friend an I were at the Cinefamily screening of THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN, and they were running a bunch of weird clips before the movie. One was of some sleazy-looking dancers doing their thing. Looked like maybe late 70s or early 80s. They were in a room full of kids, and there was a Gacy-esque clown lurking in the background. I think possibly the dancers had matching black t-shirts with a single word written on the front. Ring a bell for anyone?

I went to order this. And then i found out that for a Canadian exploitation company, they're charging almost double to ship to Canada that they are to the US. Sorry, guys. I know Canada post sucks, but I'm not paying that much to ship. I've shipped DVDs. I know what the cost is. And the fact that it costs the same to ship to fucking IRAN as it does to Kitchener means you need to readjust your business model.

Robin Bougie
09-07-2013, 04:53 AM
That seems like it must be a mistake. It's half the price to ship within Canada for Canadians compared to shipping to the states, not double.

I would contact them directly, and let them know. In fact, I'll do it for you.

So it's $15, plus $7.50 to ship within Canada. A little high I suppose, but considering it's $4.00 to ship, I don't think $3.50 is an unreasonable "handling fee". Especially not after dealing with ebay all these years and having US dealers routinely charge 3X to 10X what their actual shipping cost is simply because they find it inconvenient to have to go to a fucking post office.

I agree with you...it's seeing companies in Canada charge less to ship to the US than in their own country that irks me, I suppose. My irritation over it isn't unique to this company, there are a few others out there, but it was enough that I didn't commit to buy. What's that phrase? I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. :)

I've seen this in stock at Suspect Video in Toronto, so I'll probably shop local. $7.50 s&h is pretty high. Probably turn out to still be more expensive at SV, though: that $15 is a good price.

I'm buying it for the "u" in Colour.

Yeah we ad tracking and send it express post. Why ? Cause 3 out of ten people that order via paypal charge it back and say they never got unless we have tracking. So we have to cover our ass.

Yes Ian..ANGEL AND THE BEASTS is coming out first in a small run @ CINEMA WASTELAND on Oct 4 with places like Diabolik handling it soon after just like CCMC - It features a 15 minute trailer reel just like we play at all of our theatrical events. I sent Mark a VHS of this new scan.

I watched CCMC on Friday night after a number of beers, which was perfect.....it's really something else. I especially appreciated stuff like Coming Attractions intros from theatres in North York and other Canadian/Ontario aspects that made it feel more...I don't know, more personal.

The intro is great, when they call out those responsible for inspiring the title of this release, bleeping out the name, but there's no doubt who they're talking about. :)

Thanks, Vagrancy! And thanks for that extra VHS. I've got to dig out and hook up my player to check this thing out.

As terribly made as the intro is it's 100% true. I offered up my materials to a few different studios and we were told "This one is no good" "No1 will want to see a German Trailer" "Spaghetti Westerns are boring " etc etc - Having played these in public for over 6 years at the time I knew 1st hand the shit that worked and the stuff that didn't. So we said fuck it..Our customers actually pitched in a few bucks to help us pay to have the trailers scanned.

Making CCMC distinctly Canadian was of course our intent by trying to add in as much as possible. My personal favorite is the Saskatchewan PSA against drinking and driving tag.

Will this one be an actual pressed blu or a Blu-R like COLOUR CORRECT?

Vagrancy Films
09-21-2013, 08:04 AM
ANGEL AND THE BEAST hit some delays and to make our deadline for the Cinema Wasteland show on Oct 4 we had to do it as a Blu-R - To compensate for that there's a few more extras on this 1st release that won't be on the pressed version happening a few weeks later.

Here's the trailer showing how the scan turned out - Again "BEAST" has 20 mins of Colour Correct my Cock type material (more Canadian spots etc) before the movie starts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSuU7XLv2Tw

For those who are not going to Cinema Wasteland (and I assume plenty are unless your in the area) you can get this advanced version now

http://www.grimbrothers.com/scumbags.html

Finally I just like to say that using a positive over negative as our source material will continue to be the norm for any future releases we do. Vagrancy ain't Criterion ;)
