View Full Version : Breaking Bad

AMC is showing this series in order to catch folks like me - who should've been watching already - up on it. So I'm finally catching it.

Am only in about 6 episodes of S1 but it's got lots going on, on a few levels. Waiting to see how they play it out.

But my fave thing to do is to yell, "SCIENCE!" after some particularly poignant bit of violence on Walt's part.

Funny, I was just talking about this show earlier. I caught the pilot episode last summer and really dug it so I picked the first season up cheap on Amazon and I just can't seem to get into it, everyone says I need to at least finish the first season and it'll hook me but so far I feel nothing for it

01-08-2011, 08:42 PM
yeah i got season 1 and 2, saw the odd episode on ABC2 here, it look OK, kinda like a poor-mans WIRE, but mebee I gotta sit down and watch it once I has the attention-span and time.

chuk hell

It's nothing like The Wire but an absolutely brilliant show. One of my all-time favorites. If you haven't seen this, get yer ass in gear!!!

Half way through the second season at this point, and I think it's safe to say that things have gotten considerably more intense and unpredictable. I want to keep this spoiler free so won't go into specifics, but holy shit.

08-23-2012, 04:21 PM

You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Finished season two, will be buying three come pay day I think. I kinda saw things coming towards the end of S2, but am eager to find out where it's going to go.

Oh and if you guys want to start a Breaking Bad thread with spoilers, to talk about stuff us latercomers don't want to know about yet, go for it - just indicate spoilers in the title.

We should be getting S3 today - hooray, slowly getting caught up on this.

Breaking Bad Fun Fact #1:

Mark Margolis, who played Tio, has an uncredited apperance on the plane scene in The Opening Of Misty Beethoven.

It's probably been confirmed elsewhere but Aaron Paul's twitter account just said:

"I just finished reading the first episode of the final season of Breaking Bad and words can not express what I just experienced. Holy shit."

So it seems season six will be the last.

Alison Jane
12-07-2012, 03:20 PM
Awwwww. :(

These final eight episodes were originally described as the back half of season 5 which was announced to be the final season when it was first ordered back in 2011.

Aug. 11th return, for the final season - announced today (http://www.slashfilm.com/breaking-bad-announces-august-return-and-new-talk-show/). Great Q&A on that link, too, w/ Conan interviewing Gilligan and the cast.

04-18-2013, 10:22 PM
I've been hearing how good this show is since the first season, but never got around to watching it. Figured with the final batch of episodes coming up it was a good time to finally give it a shot.

Holy shit. I keep sitting down intending to watch one episode and then a movie or something, only to find myself clicking "next" for the rest of the night. Will probably finish Season 3 tonight.

Alison Jane
04-19-2013, 06:29 AM
Yep. That's how it was for us too! Season five can't come quickly enough!

04-22-2013, 06:11 PM
The one thing I'll miss after this show's done, tho', is yelling, "GILLIGAN!!" at the end of the opening credits.

I'd watch it.

So would it be an American cartel that comes to fight him?

And unless it's Signor Martinez (http://video.adultswim.com/king-of-the-hill/signor-martinez.html), I ain't interested.

The Saul Goodman spin off series is moving forward. (http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/breaking-bad/26339/breaking-bad-spin-off-pushes-forward)

"Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan first made noises about continuing the world of his show in spin-off form earlier this year, and since then, his resolve has only strengthened.

Though Gilligan and his chosen showrunner Peter Gould, are yet to pitch to Sony, the plan is to do just that with a Saul Goodman-related project that could take the form of either a prequel or sequel."

A whole lot of character images as well as a listing of the final eight episodes with (very brief) synopsis attached to them.

When Breaking Bad started I watched the first two episodes. Loved it but for some reason never watched anymore. Then had a good friend tell me I really should watch it. So got season 1 and watched the first 4 episodes today. Amazed at how good it is. And thankfully I have managed to avoid all spoilers so far.

Has anyone here heard the fan theory connecting Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the middle?

Alison Jane
08-13-2013, 07:47 AM
Bryan Cranston? Haha, no... Tell us. :)

You'll need to watch all the seasons now. It really is fantastic throughout.

Mark Tolch

Agreed, great episode last night...I love that they went back to the foreshadowing preface to each episode, and the confrontation in the garage was awesome.

Ian Jane

I know how you feel. It wasn't until recently that we were caught up and it was only this last episode that we actually watched on TV as opposed to BD.

Trying to avoid spoilers here for those who don't want them.

08-16-2013, 03:02 PM
Could create another thread, maybe?

But yes - the theory of Cranston awaking as Hal at the end would be priceless.

And maybe it's not so far-fetched? 7603

Newt Cox

The theory I heard was this. Somehow at the end of breaking bad Walt is put into witness protection. And That is how he becomes Hal from Malcolm in the middle.

Another very solid episode last night. Cool to see Marie get so aggressive this time. Didn't really see that coming. Good emphasis on Skylar's character too.
