Stumbled on this info at Blu-ray.com. (http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=213353)

No specs or extras listed yet and no info on if it'll be the US edit or the uncut version but it's Stuart Gordon and Christopher Lambert, so that should be enough in and of itself to get some people interesting.

In that same thread a poster notes that Mill Creek will be releasing Fortress 2 on Blu-ray soon as part of their deal with Sony. So that's also good news.

Amazon pre-order (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4VSU88/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00B4VSU88&linkCode=as2&tag=cognitrespon-20) is up already for the first movie.

This is, apparently, available at Best Buy right now for $6 as they have an exclusive early release of a number of these Echo Bridge cheapies (The Grifters and Beautiful Girls are a couple of other titles available now) If someone wants to be a canary and pick up some of these titles and let us know the quality, it would be much appreciated.

Someone at the Blu-ray.com forums (http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=7061400&postcount=56) picked up a bunch of the Echo Bridge titles, including Fortress and the specs are

Fortress (1992)
1.85:1 16:9 1080p
R Rated version:95 mins.
English 2.0 Stereo
*(Not ported from DVD: Theatrical Trailer).

Since I mentioned it in the post above, I thought I'd point out that it looks like EB's THE GRIFTERS Blu-ray carries over most of the special features found on the old DVD

The Grifters (1990)
1:85.1 16:9 (Mislabeled as 1.78:1) 1080p
English 2.0 Stereo
Special Features:
Commentary Track With Director Stephen Frears, Screenwriter Donald E. Westlake and Actors John Cusack and Anjelica Huston.
The Making of The Grifters.(Labaled as Behind The Scenes on back of the case).
The Jim Thompson Story. (Not mentioned on back of the case).

Still no real review on the transfers.

Hmm. I'll still snag Fortress if it's cheap. I like the movie and don't actually have it on DVD.

So there's a poster on the Blu-ray.com forum saying that the packaging is wrong and that this has a DTS-HD 2.0 track on it.

Fortress is a fucking masterpiece of b-science fiction.

So this, like pretty much all the Echo Bridge Miramax titles, is out of print now. If you want one and you see it, get it now. People seem to be going after this one and the Godzilla Vs. Biollante discs...

This is out from Koch in Germany this week. Uses SD inserts for the footage that was missing from the US release but is supposedly at least complete.

Screen caps here.
