From the man who directed District 9, and starring Matt Damon.... trailer!

“In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.”

I'm game. Though I am a bit dissapointed that Jodie Foster does not play some kind of midget Alien. But I suppose this will be all right as is.

I wish I hadn't watched that full length trailer as it seems to give away too much.

Ok, this looks good enough to see in the theater.

I saw this in the Cinema tonight and was reasonably pleased. It was not a great film, in fact I would say it was not even a very exciting film, as the plot is obvious from the get go, and it moves in a linnear way forward without any sidetracks. What I did like though, was the CGI which I would argue is the best CGI I have ever seen. Great stuff all around. And the pace is good. No 3 hour bloated shit here. Under two hours.

What I didnt like though was Sharlto Copley who was insanley good in District 9. Here he is insanely bad. He is not a real actor and it shows. Poor casting I would say.

Overall I recommend it. 3,5 out of 5 toasters.

I loved District 9 and was excitedly anticipating this film. I saw it Friday and was severely disappointed. Pretty awful.

I mostly agree with Ashbee. I didn't think this was awful, but it was a massive disappointment. Maybe Blomkamp needs the guiding hand of Peter Jackson.

Saw the trailer before The Wolverine and it reminded me of the anime OVA Battle Angel Alita. I will rent this once it hits Blu ray.
