So a couple of years ago, we drove through Yonkers. We came across this place. Weird, right?

Interesting place, Ian. What did it used to be?

Turns out that this place is Untermyer Park (http://www.forteantimes.com/features/articles/234/i_am_the_son_of_sam.html). David Berkowitz hung out there.
I didn't know what it was at the time and we didn't want to break in as it's close to a well patrolled hospital with lots of security.
This guy did though.

Weird, right? Giant smokestacks and stuff. What is that?
I had no idea. We got in the car and went home, we were running out of time.
Well, it turns out it's this (http://www.hudsonvalleyruins.org/yasinsac/glenwood/glenwood.html). It's a big ass abandoned power plant. I didn't know so I didn't go check it out, just shot random pictures of lousy quality through some trees a ways back.
But here's what it looks like inside...

The moral of the story? Yonkers has a lot of awesome weird stuff but if you don't know what you're looking at you probably won't realize it.

Interesting, Ian. Didn't know anything about Untermyer Park before.
That power plant is a fascinating structure.

I really want to get inside the power plant with my camera. It's doable, if illegal, but it really is falling down. Might not be worth the risk.
