As we're playing the guess when its out game, anyone want to speculate when through the looking glass may appear? I mean I haven't got my hopes up for a quick release as its taken Barbara b what seems like an eternity since Misty (obviously for good reasons). However Chauvenist pig was released quite promptly. Personally I think I would rather have a longer wait for a more thorough restoration.

I'm working on color correction for TTLG right now. I posted some screenshots on Steven's Facebook. Ian should repost, if he can.

This is the only one I remember seeing, but if you've got more and want to email them to me, go for it.

OK, I'm splitting this one off into its own thread, it deserves it.

The (resized and compressed) caps John was kind enough to just send over...

This is easily the most exciting re-release of 2013 for me, porn or non-porn (or whatever you like to call TTLG ;).

Do we know if the eventual release is likely to be Blu? This is one of the greatest adult films - better than any of the Metzger's, in my eyes - and it would be wonderful to have it in hi-def.

It will very likely go blu.

It will very likely go blu.
Guess that will be based on the sales of the Barbara Broadcast blu... wich is why it is vital that we choose this format when it is available. Anyway Steven deserve our support for the great works he do since he took the decision to restore his films.

The capture sure look a million time better than what I have...

John do you know if Jonas Middleton is involve in the project or this is too soon to know? Any chance to get Cherry Blossom as a bonus feature (maybe a BR exclusive), unless I'm wrong Distribpix owns that one too?

It has been mentioned that 3 versions of the film are being restored. I wonder if John can confirm this.

Still no release date for Through the Looking Glass?

Hello? Three years after the substantial post on this being posted here, and as Anthony A (http://www.rockshockpop.com/forums/member.php?2613-Anthony-A) has mentioned, is this going to be released?
{Sigh - I can envision why it has not.} (I feel I should not discuss this reason here.)

Didn't Steven mention something about the materials being lost since the restoration and that's why its not had a release

Last year I was told that the HD master was lost and had the project had to be restarted from scratch.

And by lost I don't mean displaced, I mean it got buggered due to a technical issue of some sort and he had to start over.

Ouch. That is sad, but at least they have the materials to work with again.

It will be worth the wait, I am not worried about the time it will take.

you should be worried about the time it takes, at the rate Distribpix is releasing stuff, we're not going to get these films on blu ray, blu ray is being replaced with streaming, and downloads, in fact I would much rather be able to buy a 4K or 2K download of these films rather than buy a blu ray. I wish Distribpix would just go that route, they obviously don't have the capability to release blu rays anymore, and their release of Inside Little Oral Annie looked good on HD download from AEBN.net. I think they should just release their HD transfers on that site rather than release blu rays. Blu rays cost $40 and it's $15 for a download to own on AEBN.net, and I got a better quality copy than some DVD release, which is probably what they'd have done anyhow.

Some people including myself just prefer something tangible. Something they can own and call theirs. A large part of the enjoyment is not just watching a film but haing the box, art and all that comes with it.

I can understand that, lots of people enjoy that part of collecting, I like that part of collecting sometimes, but mainly for movies that are non porn, it's something about porn movies, I don't seem to care so much about the box art and all that, I guess because it's not considered acceptable to have a huge porn section on display in your living room lol, but I do like to display my "normal" films like my Arrow films blu rays, and stuff like that, but I am not comfortable displaying films like The Erotic Dr. Jekyll on my living room bookshelf, so they end up getting the box and artwork thrown away, and put in a white paper cd envelope and put in a box where I put all my porn films. I guess that's why I would not mind porn films being just released as a HD download, because I could just download and burn to a DVD or Blu ray disc and store in the box with my other porn films. But as for collecting, I understand that, as I do it with non porn films, and I like to display them on my shelf, I just can't really do that with my porn films :(

The Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix blu-rays actually don't bother me being on my shelf and all. They are subtle and have a more classier approach. In a weird sort of way It feels more like they are cult films than porn in this day and age. My Ascot Franco films have more offensive covers than these. What is a bit more bothersome is that I also have a few European titles like D'Amato and Luca Damiano and those Europeans don't give a flying fuck if they put a huge ejaculating cock on the cover or some pornstar getting her readies doggystyle lol. I never understand why they still do this, its not like you expect it to be a rom-com or anything.

haha yeah you're right about the Franco releases from Europe, I had to get rid of my cases and put those in envelopes because of the box covers, I have people who sometimes want to look through my collection and borrow films, I don't want them seeing stuff like that lol, I keep my films like that to myself, I keep my horror and stuff out, the only porn film I didn't trash the box to was Caligula, that one is considered some kind of mainstream porn film, because it has big names, you tell people it has Helen Mirren and they don't care if it's porn haha
