This popped up on Facebook...

Amazon says it's coming October 8, 2013. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECW9WFQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00ECW9WFQ&linkCode=as2&tag=cognitrespon-20)

No other details yet but I'm sure they'll be coming soon.

And... boom.

Looks like it will have that 7.1 DTS-HD track on it.

Yeah, nice to see the 7.1 mix is back after being inexplicably left out of the vengeance trilogy blu ray when it was available in the stand alone version. Too bad that English dub is still there though...anyone who watches this dubbed deserves scorn.

This looks pretty.

Apparently, a digitally remastered version OLDBOY (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/original-oldboy-gets-remastered-rescreened-656858) was released in theaters in S. Korea yesterday to coincide with the 10th anniversary of its debut.

Hopefully, this new version gets a limited theatrical run here in the US -- at least in the major markets. At the very least, we should get a remastered & restored blu ray release sometime early next year.

I'm curious about this, as the UK DVD and the Region 3 DVDs I possess both have very different colour timing. The UK Blu is somewhere in between the two, as I recall. I'd love it if this Blu-ray contained the original, richer colour timing of the first Korean DVD.

Has anyone seen any reviews of the new Tartan Blu? Supposedly it came out but it seems to have done so somewhat quietly...

This new release DOES NOT have that 7.1 DTS-HD track on it.

Audio options are,,,,

Korean DD 2.0 Stereo, DD-ex 5.1 Surround
English DD 2.0 Stereo, DD 5.1 Surround

and, from this link one of the posters challenged TARTAN about it and...

I messaged them through facebook asking why there's no lossless track, especially when the Canadian release had it, and touching on the issues with the US trilogy, and they replied saying:

Hi Michael, we never advertised the new title to have a lossless audio. We are aware that the Vengeance trilogy does have issues and do provide compensation for that release.

They're lying too, as they clearly do advertise a 7.1 lossless track in this picture

Yeah, you can clearly see in the image I uploaded in the 1st post, which was issued by Tartan, that it claims to have a 7.1 DTS-HD mix. Think I'll pass on this, fancy packaging is nice but doesn't entice me to upgrade.
