I recently revisited a couple of his films. Very impressive! My favourites:
- Code of the Forgotten Eight
- Horrors of Malformed Men

By the way, do any of you know any other Japanese directors like him?

Makiguchi is quite similar, although his filmography is much smaller than Ishii's. "Shogun's Sadism" and "Torn Priestess/Nuns That Bite" are obligatory viewings. You should also see Bohachi Bushido's sequel by Takashi Harada. Almost as good as Ishii's film. But in general you really can't go wrong with 70s Toei action/exploitation output. I've seen ~20 of their films from that time and every single one of them was at least good so far (or maybe I was just lucky with my choices, who knows...).

Thanks for the info!
That Takashi Harada sequel seems interesting. Is there a DVD release?

I don't think so. It's available on Japanese VHS (& subbed version on everybody knows which torrent sites).
