78 Pictures Of Graceland

Ok, in the Elvis thread over in the music section, Richard asked me to post some of the pictures from our trip to Graceland back in 2008. I took hundreds of shots but a lot of them are repetitive and what not so I whittled it down to 78 images presented more or less in the order in which you do the tour. It's a self guided tour so you can kind of do it on your own but it starts at the main house, as you can see here.

As it was only a few days after Christmas, the place was all decorated using Elvis' actual Christmas decorations. These are all authentic, and belonged to his family.

As you wander around the house, which isn't all that big, you get a feel for his lifestyle. The top level is closed off to visitors as per the request of his family.

Here's his kitchen! You can almost smell the deep fried peanut butter and banana sammiches!

The jungle room! Some day when I am rich I'm going to have a house with a jungle room in it too. It wasn't as jungley as I'd thought it would be but it was still pretty swanky.

Elvis also had a rad bar. It was heavy on the yellow. Great use of mirrors. The guy had style.

Thanks for posting them.

The suits, the suits -- they remind of the bullfighter's costume. The matadors and the torreodors. Except they aren't white. I wonder if they did not serve as the idea.
