I spent the weekend at the "Faces in the Dark" horror & exploitation film festival. It takes place once a year at Jack Stevenson's cinema in Copenhagen. All movies are always screened on 16mm or 35mm (except this year they screened Lone Fleming's debut short film on digital). One of the films was HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY on 35mm. Needless to say I've seen it a few times over the years but seeing a slightly worn print at a real cinema was great. I found the old ad-mats from its original run in Denmark in 1982. The Danish title reads "Slaughterhouse by the Cemetery".

You're absolutely right. I guess those ad-mats didn't really represent double bills like you had them in North America but the same cinemas could be running films that were from completely different genres right next to each other.
