    The Movie:

This 1972 goofy sex comedy stars a young and truly gorgeous Sybil Danning as a foxy young nurse named Elizabeth. When we meet her, she's working at the hospital that she's soon fired from after refusing to show her piggish male employer the goods. She's let go, and returns home to take a job at the small town pharmacy her father has run for decades. While Elizabeth may be happy to be home, her two horny sisters, Maria (Eva Garden) and Christel (Alena Penz), are not. You see, these two tarts are really into screwing and they figure that their sister, who is definitely a bit of a prude in their eyes, is just going to ruin all of their fun.

What the father of the three lovely ladies doesn't know is that Maria and Christel have been sneaking their respective boyfriends into their bedrooms at night for some quality cuddle time. Maria and Christel figure that if they want to keep their good thing going, they're going to have to get Elizabeth laid so that she'll relax a bit and let them keep having the sex they want - otherwise she'll just run squealing to their dad. All of the guys in town seem more than keen on deflowering the pretty Elizabeth, but to no avail, she'll have none of it. Eventually the girls decide to give her a libido enhancing supplement that they hide in a jar of sleeping pills. Elizabeth, not knowing any better, takes the jar to her new job where she works as a nurse and hands out the pills to the various patients in the ward - everyone gets horny, hilarity ensues.

Naughty Nymphs is pretty goofy stuff but it's a fun watch and Ms. Danning is great in the lead. The family relationship here provides many of the laughs, with the father always figuring Elizabeth is the slutty one of his three daughters and refusing to see that Maria and Christel, who have him wrapped around their collective finger, aren't nearly as pure and as chaste as he'd like to keep believing. Of course, there's plenty of Benny Hill still slap and tickle humor here too, with plentiful nudity courtesy of the three female cast members adding plenty of eye candy to the proceedings.

The film moves along at a good pace and as ridiculous as it is from the start and gets towards the end, there's a good natured sense of harmless humor here. They really don't make films like this anymore. The advent of hardcore made them obsolete and the American sex comedy that came to popularity in the eighties and which has had a comeback in the wake of American Pie was and still is of a completely different breed. While it's probably impossible to be nostalgic for a type of film that was made before you were born, this is definitely a relic from a bygone era and representative of a niche of cult movies that has literally gone the way of the dinosaur.

    Video/Audio/Extras:

The 1.33.1 fullframe transfer would be better if it weren't interlaced but it's certainly watchable enough as it stands. Colors are a slight bit washed out but print damage is only ever minimal and the image is pretty strong for the most part despite some minor mpeg compression artifacts popping up in the darker spots on the picture. It's not a reference quality production but for a picture of this age, it's a decent effort.

The Dolby Digital Mono track, which is the English dubbed version, sounds very clean and very clear. There aren't any problems with hiss or distortion at all and the dialogue is always very easy to understand. There isn't any background noise to note nor any problems with hiss or distortion and the score sounds quite good as well. No complaints here!

Aside from the feature, this disc also contains a fun collection of vintage German sex comedy trailers. Look for trailers for 2069: A Sex Odyssey, Between The Covers, Bottoms Up, Lonely Wives, Moonlighting Wives, Naughty Nymphs, Office Girls, Pets, Run Virgin Run, Secrets Of Sweet 16, Sinful Bed, Super Knight, Swap Meet At The Love Market, Swinging Wives, Teach Me, The Female Bunch, I Like The Girls Who Do, and The Swinging Cheerleaders.

There are also trailers included for other Secret Key titles like All The Sins Of Sodom, The Deep Throat Comedy Collection, and the Punk Rock/Pleasure Palace double feature. Aside from that, there's a link for you to get a catalogue, menus and chapter stops. Inside the keepcase, however, is a booklet of liner notes from The After Hours Collector that includes a reproduction of the American one sheet and which details the film's history and distribution.

    The Final Word:

While this isn't a full fledged special edition loaded to the gills with extras galore, it's a decent presentation of an amusing German sex comedy that has plenty of goofy entertainment value. Maybe it's not a classic, but it's plenty of fun, and quirky enough to matter. On top of that, it's got a lot of hot naked European ladies in it. Boob fans, take note!

The late Bert I. Gordon’s 1963 horror film, ‘Tormented,’ is an effectively spooky ghost story made with an obviously low budget but no less effective for it.
