25 Years later the first casualty of war is still innocence.

This Memorial Day Experience War Like Never Before When PLATOON Arrives on Blu-ray For the First Time May 24th starring a Young Charlie Sheen in His Breakout Role!

LOS ANGELES (March 23, 2011) - Catch a young Charlie Sheen in his breakout performance in one of the most iconic movies ever when PLATOON makes its stunning Blu-ray debut on May 24 from MGM Home Entertainment. The remastered, first-ever Blu-ray edition brings the sounds and images of Oliver Stone's critically acclaimed Vietnam War drama to life in an entirely new way. PLATOON received eight Academy Award® nominations, winning four: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Sound and Best Film Editing. The all-star cast includes Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, John C. McGinley, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Dillon, Keith David and Johnny Depp.

PLATOON tells the extraordinary journey of Private Chris Taylor (Sheen), a young, naive American who arrives in Vietnam and quickly discovers he must battle the Viet Cong alongside the gnawing fear, physical exhaustion and intense anger growing within him. His two commanding officers (Oscar®-nominated Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe) draw a fine line between the war they wage against the enemy and the one they fight with each other. Meanwhile, the conflict, chaos and hatred permeate Taylor, suffocating his realities and numbing his feelings to man's highest value: life.

I had put off buying this film for this very reason... now all they need to do is announce a SALVADOR blu-ray and I'm good. :)
