    From S'More Entertainment's press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - JUNE 2011

S'More Entertainment lines up an eclectic assortment of titles for release in July including a comprehensivecollection of films from iconic filmmaker Ed Wood featured in A BIG BOX OF WOOD, one of the first film appearances by singing cowboy Gene Autry in A BIG BOX OF COWBOYS, ALIENS, ROBOTS AND DEATH RAYS, DROP BOX, a comedy about a mistaken film left in a video store's drop box and the havoc that ensues when the customer tries to retrieve the tape, and a collection of classic car commercials, AMERICAN METAL: CLASSIC CAR COMMERCIALS.

    DROP BOX:

When a well known pop star accidentally places her sex tape in a video store's drop box, she realizes the magnitude of her mistake and the havoc it'd generate if anyone saw the tape. She quickly returns to the store to harass the video store rental clerk to get her tape back resulting in a disturbing series of encounters pitting the customer and the clerk against each other, even as the clerk is forced to deal with a variety of customers and other problems.

For anyone who has either worked in a video store or shopped in one, the customers will all feel familiar, the attitude of the clerk accurate but the underlying story is ripped from today's tabloids. One can only imagine how the story ends. Internationally known DJ Rachel Sehl stars as Mindy.
Written and Directed by Anesty Carasoulous and Spiros Carasoulos

A BIG BOX OF COWBOYS, ALIENS, ROBOTS AND DEATH RAYS:

Scheduled for release on DVD to coincide with the theatrical release of Cowboys & Aliens starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, this four disc box set, A BIG BOX OF COWBOYS, ALIENS, ROBOTS AND DEATH RAYS contains one of the first film appearances by singing cowboy Gene Autry and includes eight complete films featuring all the zany scariness that could be imagined in the '30s and '40s.
The collection of films feature such well known western stars as Gene Autry, Ray “Crash” Corrigan, Tim McCoy, Smiley Burnette, Ken Maynard, Yakima Canutt and Rusty the Wonder Horse.

    DISC ONE:
-Radio Ranch (1935, Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, sci-fi) 70 min.
Feature length version of the 12 part serial The Phantom Empire. Singer Gene Autry discovers a race of advanced humans living beneath the earth. Created to compete with the successful Buck Rogers franchise, the serial was unique because it starred a singing cowboy, horses and a more conventional “old West” setting. Directed by Otto Brower & B. Reeves Eason.
-Ghost Patrol (1936, Tim McCoy, sci-fi, death ray) 51 min.
A Professor creates a death ray that will cause airplanes to crash and is forced by baddie Dawson to use it on those carrying money. When the nattily attired government agent Tim McCoy arrives to investigate, he is mistaken for a noted outlaw so he assumes that identity to force Dawson to make him a partner. Inevitably and at the wrong moment, his true identity is revealed and while he is a prisoner, Dawson forces the Professor to start his machine. Directed by Sam Newfield

    DISC TWO
-Tombstone Canyon (1932, Ken Maynard, horror) 62 min.
The story concerns one man's (western legend Ken Maynard) search for his unknown identity and the ranch war, instigated by “The Phantom Killer” he encounters on his quest. Directed by Alan James.
-Riders of the Whistling Skull (1937, Ray “Crash” Corrigan of the 3 Mesquiteers, Yakima Canutt, horror) 58 min.
Stony, Tucson and Lullaby, the 3 Mesquiteers, go in search of a missing archeologist who vanished while searching for the Lost City of Lukachukai. Their search takes them to a huge rock formation known as the Whistling Skull. There they find the missing professor, kidnapped by a sinister Indian cult, along with a number of mummies, inside one of the nostrils. Considered to be one of the best “B” westerns of the 1930's. Directed by Mack V. Wright

    DISC THREE
-Sky Bandits (1940, James Newell, Kenne Duncan, sci-fi, death ray) 62 min.
Sgt. Renfrew and Constable Kelly go aloft to search for a plane missing with a shipment of gold from the Yukon Mine Company. When an inventor who devised a power ray which disrupts electrical impulses interferes, Morgan and his gang bring in Prof. Lewis to increase the ray's range, misleading him into believing he's assisting the government. Directed by Ralph Staub
-Gun Packer (1938, Jack Randall and Rusty the Wonder Horse, sci-fi) 51 min.
Another singing cowboy who starred on Broadway but not able to sing in this opus, Jack Randall finds himself investigating stage robberies where the stolen gold mysteriously disappears. Apparently, a senile ex-con has a secret that allows the gold to disappear. Assuming a false identity, he learns the Professor's secret but as usual, his true identity is revealed. One of the first films to utilize an African-American sidekick for the lead actor. Director Wallace Fox

    DISC FOUR
-Saddle Mountain Roundup (1941, Ray “Crash” Corrigan, Ranger Busters, horror) 59 min.
A crusty old rancher was right when he claimed people wanted to kill him for his money. An interesting mass-up of money, singing cowboys, a character who talks to his dummy, trap doors and secret passages in a dark old house. Directed by S. Roy Luby
-Vanishing Riders (1935, Bill Cody Sr. & Jr., horror) 58 min.
Sheriff Bill Jones (Cody) enters an allegedly haunted and supposedly deserted silver boomtown which has a single occupant: Hiram. A ranch owner hires Wolf Larsen's gang as ranch hands that plan to steal the cattle. The plan is thwarted when Cody's adopted son comes up with a plan to foil the thievery by using ghostly make-up and skeleton sheets for the riders and their horses to chase the superstitious rustlers. Directed by Robert F. Hill.

    AMERICAN METAL: CLASSIC CAR COMMERCIALS:

Fansofvintage cars are legion as evidenced by the vintage car focus of successful reality shows such as Discovery Channel's “Desert Car Kings,” HDTV's “Mecum Auto Auctions,” and the various “Barrett-Jackson Auctions,” shows all featuring a wide variety of '50s and '60s American metal.

The DVD covers the heyday of American car culture post WWII and the evolution of automobile advertising including the early oil, gas and other auto product ads. Vintage car collectors cross all demographic and cultural trends and this release demonstrates the inspiration for the obsessive and often quite expensive hobby development.

Featured on the disc are 1950s Chevrolet; 1960s Chevrolet; Chrysler/Plymouth/DeSoto; and Ford/Lincoln/Mercury; as well as many others.

    A BIG BOX OF WOOD:

Ed Wood, was an American screenwriter, director, producer, actor, author, and editor, who often performed many of these functions simultaneously. In the 1950s, Wood made a number of cheap genre films (and attempted a number of failed TV pilots), now enjoyed for their technical errors, unsophisticated special effects, large amounts of ill-fitting stock footage, idiosyncratic dialogue, eccentric casts and outlandish plot elements, although his flair for showmanship gave his projects at least a modicum of critical success.

Wood's popularity waned soon after his biggest "name" star, Bela Lugosi, died. He was able to salvage a saleable feature from Lugosi's last moments on film, but his career declined thereafter. Toward the end of his life in the 1970s, Wood made semi-pornographic movies and wrote pulp crime, horror, and sex novels. His real infamy began two years after his death, when he was awarded a Golden Turkey Award as The Worst Director of All Time. His cult following is legion and this collection features some rare footage of the master at work. This six disc box set includes some invaluable visuals and special features.
