  • Turbonegro - Live At Santo's Party House, New York City, 11/18/2011

Turbonegro played their first (and so far only!) U.S. show with their new singer last night at Santo's Party House to kick off the World Snowboarding Championships. Hosted by Andrew WK, who really only appeared on stage after the main set ended to encourage the crowd to cheer for an encore (which we did and which we got), the sold out show attracted fans from as far away as France and the band did not disappoint. Former Dukes Of Nothing frontman Tony Sylvester had some pretty huge shoes to fill considering how beloved Hank von Helvete was amongst the faithful but Sylvester fit in well and brought a lot of intensity and energy to the show.

The set was more or less a greatest hits affair but nobody left disappointed. Some pictures from their set…

The video footage from youtube looks like it was a good time. That new singer might not be Hank, but he sure is playing the part well...

Yeah, he does fine. Lots of energy and a cocky attitude and his voice fits the music well.
