The Street Dogs Live At The Highline Ballroom, New York, NY September 15, 2012.
As part of their current tour with Roll The Tanks and The Koffin Kats, Boston’s The Street Dogs played an early show at the Highline Ballroom on the west side of Manhattan last night. The headliners were on stage by 8:30 and played for almost ninety minutes solid, blasting through a solid set of content from throughout their ten year career. Surprisingly, the encore consisted of a medley made up of The Clash’s Guns Of Brixton (which they’ve played live for a while now) and three early Dropkick Murphy’s songs It took the crowd a little while to get warmed up but by the twenty minute mark, things were going just fine and rowdiness ensued. Hopefully the guy in the Cock Sparrer shirt who face planted from a poorly planned stage dive is ok (the band stopped playing to make sure he got up).
All in all, it was pretty killer stuff. The band had a ridiculous amount of energy and enthusiasm driving the entire set and they remain one of the best touring acts out there.
