Fletcher Cobb, the overly effective torturer met in the first issue, shows up at the hotel Gage and Rachel were about to hole up in, and things pick up in the middle of a standoff. It turns out Cobb and Gage were corrupt partners back when they were both on the city's police force, and they know each other all too well. Cobb fills Rachel in on what went down to cause such a rift between the two men, and also lets him know he wants to help them on their mission.

Meanwhile, Lake, and his brute of a sidekick Kegg, make another appearance at a biker bar and Lake gets their attention with a business proposition - but not until after Kegg gets in a massive fight and is brought to his knees by threat of shotgun. Tensions are very high, but so is the attention level once large sums of money are mentioned.

Kegg gets further page time during a meeting with Gage in the food court of a crowded shopping mall, which seems like a nice place to be with all the witnesses. Smart move on Gage's part, as Kegg can't do anything to him in such a setting. The negotiations don't ever start between the two men, and Gage quickly shows his hand, making the crowded food court suddenly mean little to either of them.

This issue is jammed with action, mainly in the form of fist fights, and as per usual the two creators do an excellent job of making everything cohesive and exciting. The book is totally playing out like a movie, and although it still at this point seems like nothing more than a revenge story, it is still incredibly entertaining. None of the characters are explored much past the surface, at least at this point, which may prevent any of the characters from being likable enough, and as a result the reader may not care what happens to anyone. Even so, as far as nasty characters go, this book has a lot of them. It's a solid crime story, and at this mid-way point in the tale, the freight train to the finale is starting to really gain speed. This comic is well worth the time spent with it. It continues to be fast paced, ultra-violent and full of cuss words.
