Former clone-trooper Hock is now Vader's wingman for their next attempt at crushing Separatist forces on the planet Ostor. Having been defeated once here, Vader is taking a more personal approach this time around.

But here, again, they're led into a distraction, with Separatist fighters decimating their ships in a quick shot that allows them to turn their attention to destroying Vader's cruiser instead. Vader heads off to deal with that threat while Hock is shot down by the second-best (after Vader) pilot he's ever seen - the former rogue trooper, Kaddak.

Hock, shot down and injured, awakens in the medical tent of the Separatists. He confronts their leaders directly but they explain their position, valuing freedom and personal liberty over the version of “peace” offered by the newly-formed Empire. Hock doesn't like this and tries to fight them but is reminded that theirs is a rebellion and that eliminating these leaders will only make it grow stronger.

Hock is upset by this but is able to just walk out and disable the city's defense shield, allowing his fellow troops to enter and attack. But then he hears the locals chanting for Kaddak and, shortly, these two are face to face, with Kaddak being completely different from what Hock had imagined him to be. But he still punches him to the ground and is ready to deliver a beat-down at the end of the issue.

Unfortunately, this issue doesn't really move the story forward at all, nor does it allow for any growth in the main narrative character of Hock. Tim Seidell's story just kind of falls flat in that regard, feeling like more like a side-mission or a Separatist distraction. At least Gabriel Guzman's artwork is still top-notch.
