Their teams now reunited, the B.P.R.D. forces can concentrate on the center of power for Zimco forces. They're told that Marsten is the one they really want and he's holed up in the penthouse of the Zinco tower. He's also been given two exceptionally tough bodyguards by the Black Flame.
However, their informant also reveals that it was Marsten who found the host body the Black Flame is using, a model unused by and stolen from the B.P.R.D. As it turns out, this was to be the new host form for the Russian B.P.R.D. team leader, Iosif. At this news, Iosif loses it and launches a one-man assault on the tower to get at Marsten. But facing these new bodyguards of his might be his undoing...
Meanwhile, Liz heads to the cosmic lair of the Black Flame. But she recognizes this form, thinking him to be a former foe that she dispatched previously. The Flame is ready for her this time, though, and unleashes a massive transforming explosion while his “cricket†forces seek to overwhelm the rest of the teams stationed at the tower's base.
This issue is much more about action and really driving things forward, more so than the other issues in this story arc. Mignola and Arcudi are in full control here yet again, building everything nicely to its coming dynamic conclusion. James Harren's artwork continues to excel, too, now getting much bigger panel-spreads to play with and that's a welcome addition to show off his talents.
