Writer Alex De Campi once again dons her sleaze merchant persona and scribes the fourth (and at this point, disappointingly LAST) story in her grimy little series. As per the series' tradition, each tale is made up of two issues and features a different interior artist. This new tale, “Flesh Feast of the Devil Doll”, has the art chores handled by Gary Erskine, known for his work with Rick Veitch on “Army@Love” and Garth Ennis on “Dan Dare”. And the cover is by repeat offender Francesco Francavilla, who did some of the previous covers for Grindhouse (if you haven't checked out his work in Afterlife with Archie, then you need to…holy shit…).

Hundreds of years ago in upstate New York, Native Americans interrupted a ritualistic ceremony held by those friggin' white people in an underground cavern. They take out all the participants and cave in the joint in with a massive explosion. Jump to the present, the same site is now the home of a field hockey camp, full of nubile and horny young women.

One insecure and shy girl arrives at camp with no experience in field hockey (or any other activities the rest of the girls are into) and the chicks give her some guff at first, but its short lived. After a little hazing and a topless whipped cream fight, the house-hen sends them down into the lame little town to blow off steam. There is NO chance they can get into trouble. Just some fun loving teens.

But this is no coming-of-age story, and as the tittie-ball action is happening, a lonely trucker gets some encouragement from a hitchhiker to forget his wedding vows for a moment while she shows him a little action. Fast forward to what seems a reversal of roles with the ever-so-classy facial shot in a porno, the hitchhiker reveals herself in more ways than one, and things start to look bleak for the trucking community and the girls. Sex-starved virgins, $3 whores, jizz-faced truckers, and a fucked up demon…a faultless formula for success.

Not knowing anything about Alex De Campi, whether or not she actually likes the exploitative content she is so wonderfully throwing down on the pages is irrelevant; she knows exactly how to give those of us who DO enjoy such elements what they want and in spades. The three Bs (blood, beasts, and boobies) gloriously weave their way through every tale in her sleazy title and to this reader she is a goddess among comic writers. No slight toward the artwork, which is perfectly enjoyable and appealing to the eye, but the star of this book is Ms. De Campi, make no mistake about that.
