Lewis, Clark, and their companions are being pursued by a colony of flora-virus infested bunnies. And a flora-virus infected grizzly bear as well. Oh and some fucked up dear, of course the diseased former humans who have been giving them shit for a couple of issues now. Lewis and Clark are handling the bear, and after taking care of that piece of business, find a newer cause of inconvenience: the source of the deadly flora-virus.

A quick bout of negotiations of a sort doesn't go well for the two explorers and the source of the virus, so they seek consultation from their new-found ally Sacajawea (don't forget she's pregnant). A couple of acid trips and a little shop of horrors, the expedition crew gets back on track to make it to the Pacific coast. The United States Corps of Discovery has expectations of them, and they best press onward.

Another action-packed issue for sure, the arc gets wrapped up in this issue, leaving out a cliff-hanger and actually tidies up things in a satisfying fashion. Sacajawea shows her fighting abilities and those themselves seem almost as supernatural as the beast she fights. People die in this issue, but no one memorable from past installments. This book keeps focus on just a few characters, which can be a bad thing (can get tedious) as well as a good thing (avoids confusion). As par for the course, the team of writer Chris Dingess, artist Matthew Roberts, and colorist Owen Gieni continue to out a highly entertaining story. The colors play a major part toward the appeal with this title and Gieni should be recognized for it. That green he uses as the blood of the infected makes for a much appreciated dose of disgusting viewing.
