Michael Baxter was all set to marry his love Chloe Cleveland, but got cold feet and left her at the altar. That left a hair across the ass of Chloe and judging from the arsenal in her trunk he picked the wrong broad to fuck with. Four years later finds Mr. Baxter, now Mike Stone, is engaged to another pretty lady named Denise Pollack out in Seattle. With Mike off at work, Denise and his mother get a little closer.

Meanwhile at work in New York City, Mike's got his client on the hot plate and after finalizing the deal, he throws him out of a glass elevator. Oh, was it mentioned Mike's a hit man? That would be an important fact. And meanwhile to that, Chloe shows just how much of a difficult person she can and will be when she pays Michael's father a visit. Well, okay that wasn't a “meanwhile”, that was a “four years ago” flashback.'' Back to the present: after a job well done, Mike takes a flight back home to his honey in Seattle which doesn't go unnoticed by someone looking for him. Can you guess who that is?

This latest entry into the comic book world from Top Cow/Image is a four-issue series released over a four-week period telling a tale of revenge and professional killers. And it would seem a love triangle is in there too, but let's hope that doesn't get too involved.

A quick start in establishing characters and laying the ground work for the events to follow is the job of any #1 issue in such a short series, and this issue #1 performs its job well. William Harms writes a nicely paced story with a coherent execution of flashback/flash forward sequences. The art by Edward Pun is explained nicely by the artist himself in the back of the book. It's all digitally created and he shows before and after images of some pages, showing the layouts compared to the finished art, minus the text. The black and white finished product is beautiful stuff. He uses lots of interesting angles and his action/fast movement sequences are really well done. An entertaining book for certain, it looks to be a great series.
