The grand finale to the six-part series brings it all to an excessively violent ending. Gage has been apprehended by Lake and his cronies and is facing certain death and soon, if he can't come up with something clever to get out of his predicament. On the meanwhile side, Cobb and Rachel are in the midst of a discussion with Mr. Kegg, someone Rachel has some history with, and he has some important info to share, if she and Cobb can get it out of him.

Gage looks to finish what he started with Lake, and their negotiations turn pretty sour pretty quickly, especially when Gage drops a bombshell on them. The bikers don't like it any more then Lake does. And Cobb shows his true colors, putting everyone at the highest risk possible, and at a time when Gage was not prepared to adequately deal with the brute. Everything gets explained and wrapped up in this issue, and leaves little room for a sequel. But who knows.

The story is certainly not a revenge tale for the ages, as it doesn't break new ground, but what an exciting story throughout the 6-issue run. Start to finish action, brutality, and high-octane energy. Jordan's script throughout the series maintained a cinematic feel thanks largely in part to the fantastic abilities of Scalera's art. The man draws great action sequences, and illustrates violence with zeal. Every panel has some sort of debris showing, like dirt on film, giving it an unclean appearance which just enhances the grittiness of the book, giving it that faux-grindhouse look.

The trade paperback is advertised in this issue as coming out in June 2014, which seems really quick. But if you missed the series as it came out, at least you don't have to wait too long to take in the scum, the blood and guts, and the extremely gratifying read that is Dead Body Road.
