Ania Solo's gone from frying pan to fire here, almost literally, as the hostile planet's atmosphere now has unleashed acid from the skies. But her robotic bounty hunter friend IG shows up and rescues her as nearby Imperial Knight Jao fights the crazed, determined bounty hunter who's been chasing Ania down.

[SPOILERS - HAVE THEM, WE DO.]

IG has taken some serious damage while he's been trying to find Ania so, once they're in the shelter of a cave, he's able to get her to power down his systems so nothing worse happens. It's ruined his blaster, too, which Ania has need of then as the bounty hunter appears yet again. Ania throws the blaster at her and runs, jumping off a cliff but stopped from falling by the bounty hunter's electric whip thing.

Ania gets that weapon away from the bounty hunter and they both fall down a ravine. There, Ania tries to use the whip but the bounty hunter gleefully tells her it'll only work for the robotic hand it's coded to. The bounty hunter then reveals herself and Ania recognizes her as a sadistic guard from her prison camp. She smacks Ania around a bunch, then summons her ship with a remote control.

She also clamps down Ania's wrist and explains to her that she needs to swap hands with her. As was noted in an earlier issue, whoever killed the Jedi that Ania is blamed for had a robotic hand, something she doesn't have. So, this guard explains it all to Ania: When Ania escaped, this guard was punished and imprisoned herself; but then the camp was liberated soon thereafter and, since the Sith higher-ups had wanted to keep that story of escape quiet, never struck Ania's name from their records. So this guard stepped up and called herself Ania Solo, becoming a refugee rather than a POW to the Imperial troops. She was fine with this until running into that Imperial Knight she murdered so now she knows the evidence has to match the purported suspect - and needs to swap hands with Ania.

But Jao isn't out of the fight just yet, despite the bounty hunter hitting him with a thermal detonator. He attacks her while she's still monologuing and saves Ania, for the moment as the two fight yet again, the former guard proving quite formidable. During the fight Jao is able to sever her robotic hand. But she's determined to still swap it with Ania's and moves to kill Solo. However, Ania's managed to pick up the ex-guard's ship remote and uses it to fly in and smash the ex-guard into nothing.

Just then, though, Imperial troops arrive, having been alerted to Ania's presence on the planet. They take her into custody and back to Coruscant for “trial.” The Triumvirate is ready to pronounce sentence on her almost immediately until Imperial Knight Val steps up for her defense. He explains about the robotic hand but the Triumvirate demand proof, which he doesn't have. So, thankfully, Jao appears with that robotic hand as the evidence to exonerate her.

However, Jao is still listed as a deserter and the penalty for that is death. As he sits in his cell, awaiting his punishment, he's quietly approached by the Sith lord he's been chasing all along with a promise of escape…

Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman continue their excellent work here, finally bringing some closure to a portion of the story while managing to then set up the next subject quite nicely. Hardman's artwork gets a pretty full workout here, too, with the story covering a very wide selection of settings and characters to detail - which he accomplishes with his typical excellence.
