The Chosen make their way to the morgue to “examine” the body of the latest person to die at the hands of Evil Ernie. And by examine, that means call up his spirit to get some intel. They keep following the bodies, driving in their mystery machine from South Dakota to Kansas, looking for clues. They find something else they weren't expecting, and it doesn't look like things will get any easier for the van full of supernatural young people. And Ernie is still on the prowl for another sinner to kill, so he can find out where to go next by looking for Hel, his goddess in the underworld, in their eyes as they die. She and Ernie are working to bring about Ragnarok and the Chosen want to stop it from happening. Ernie's not much in this issue.

On the other side of the triangle is Purgatory, the demon-vampire sex hound. She gets her nightly lesbian sex romp/feeding interrupted when Chastity shows up at her place in Las Vegas. She's not there for sex, or for feeding Purgatory; she's there to find out where the man she loved when she was human was being held. A big butch blow-out bashing occurs, but they can surely work things out between them.

There are a lot of characters to keep track of already and it's only the second issue. But Seeley works it with efficiency, jamming a lot into a small number of pages, and keeps the confusion out of it pretty well. But it is hokey to be honest. Fun…but corny. Andolfo's art is great, but the style is pretty typical, though she does draw Purgatori really well. Not everyone can effectively draw sexy red-skinned demon women (Coop! comes to mind), but she sure can. And the cover…if demons and vampires existed and had giant double-dong dildo lesbian sex, that cover might be an accurate depiction. And that is by no means a complaint.
