At the end of the last issue, a chimp was making his way to the clubhouse, unaware of the party being thrown for the deceased Mojo. That chimp is named Johnny, and he has been believed dead, killed in Vietnam. But the government was wrong and Johnny is alive and well, and ready to get back his surrogate family The Humans. Johnny proves right away he is angst-ridden and not to be fucked with. The sheriff isn't so impressed though, and harasses the wandering ape as soon as he gets off the bus.

Some flashback action to boot camp in the form of a kick-ass 2-page spread makes it apparent Johnny has some trouble with letting go of all the military brain-washing and getting back to a normal life. He's scarred emotionally and has a tough time keeping it together. The party is still going on in Mojo's honor, and now the band playing is Zig Zags. Not sure what happened to Smelly Tongues, but this new band is jamming so there. After some angry antics on the stage, Johnny takes some R&R with all kinds of mind-altering substances and four ape-chicks at the same time.

So now we have a main character, the war-torn Johnny. Still don't have a plot, but who cares. This book is so cool it doesn't even need one. It no doubt will get to the big story, but for now its primates living it up hard and fast. And speaking of hard, we are at two issues and an erect ape penis in each one. What comic book in this day and age can make the claim of having 100 percent of its issues containing an erect ape penis? See what you're missing?

Tom Neely's psychedelic two-page spread near the book's end is amazing. The colors, the details, the content…this HAS to get released as a poster. Please! His art is perfect for this book and Keller's script is funny, dirty, and without any redeeming value. It's that good. At only two issues in, this book is so fucking awesome. Drug-abusing, sex-crazed, drunken apes should not fail at entertaining and they don't fail here. Not by a long shot. If you aren't hooked by this issue, you aren't going to be. This shit is a total blast
