Silas (the hitman formerly known as Tony) and his daughter Denise have further solidified their bond and even though she's still plenty pissed at him for leaving his family, she obviously loves the man. She loves another guy too, though in the carnal sense, and when they go to his the love nest to hide out her boyfriend is the one who pays the price. Three generations of Foglio family heads want them both dead and will stop at nothing. Nothing that is, until The Eastside Butcher breaks his vow of living the rest of his life as a pacifist.

The final straw for him is when they took his daughter. That was not a good choice on the part of the Foglio's. In just a few pages the story's violence comes to an end, leaving out a drawn on fight to the death. The story isn't about that, it's about redemption and what a father will do for his kid. Would he do it again? Money is on “yes” as they story ends on an open note, making way for a sequel.

The hope that things wouldn't get wrapped up all nice and neat was a false hope, as things end with certain predictability. But the fact that the endgame wasn't a 10-page dragged out affair was a nice thing to see. It could easily have gone that route, but the creative team opted for content over padding and for that we say thanks. Throughout the series the conversations between the two main characters has been a big part of the story and to cheap out with half the book being an artwork showcase would have tarnished what has been consistently a good read. Is it the story of the year? Not by a long shot, but it is one that delivered some good moments and makes for an all-around entertaining crime drama/reunion tale.
