  • Perverted Maid, The

    Released by: Alpha France
    Released: February, 2015.
    Director: Francis Leroi
Cast: Lydie Begey, Jenny Feeling, Karine Gambier, Monique Carrere, Jean Pierre Armand
    Year: 1987
    Purchase From TLA Video

    The Movie:

This Alpha France Production, again directed by Francis Leroi, is known in its native France as La Servante Perverse but was evidently given a domestic release by Blue One hosted by none other than Carol Connors (in a non-sex role) under the title Services Rendered. The version contained on this MOD/DVD-R release is the French cut, sans Connors.

When the movie begins, we meet a man named Maxime (Jean-Pierre Armand) is a burglar. He sneaks into a home to crack a safe and is promptly caught in the act by the owner of the house (Samantha). She pulls a gun on him and forces him to perform. After he's been spent, she points the pistol towards him and tells him to do it again.

From here, he and his pal (Richard Bigotini) decide to embark on a new career as a chauffeur and gardener at a massive country estate. They arrive just in time to see the funeral for the millionaire who owned the home, leaving only a group of perpetually horny women around with no one but our two heroes to satisfy them. The youngest of the group is a curious teenager (Lydie Beggy) who would rather spy in on the grownups than deal with her homeschooling. At one point she becomes intimately acquainted with a bowling pin. There's also a beautiful blonde woman (Karine Gambier) about and then there's the older woman in charge (Monique Carrere). On top of all of that, yes, there is a maid here (Jenny Feeling). All these women want sex and lots of it. Maxime is put through the ringer with the ladies while the maid sneaks in some quality alone time with the man who delivers coal to the house.

Made quickly and with a low budget, this film nevertheless shows of all the slick production values and classy European locations you'd expect from a vintage Alpha France production. The opening scene with Samantha is a definite winner as she takes charge of the situation without ever letting her guard down - you get the impression that she'll use that pistol without a second thought. It's also an interesting case of the semi-rare 'women raping men' scene in an adult movie of this era. From there, we basically see Armand put through the ringer with each of the women in the house.

Beggy gets the most screen time here and it's easy to see why Leroi would choose to focus on her rather than the other more experienced actresses employed in the picture. She's a beautiful young woman and perfectly cast here in the Lolita-esque part. Though obviously well above legal age, they doll her up and have her play the 'innocent girl' in the film and she proves quite good at it. Karine Gambier pops up here and looks absolutely fantastic but she's underused, as is so often the case in her work with Alpha France. A shame, really, as the quick scene she's in is quite good. Monique Carrere looks great here too but Jenny Feeling (or Agní¨s Lemercier if you prefer), who pops up in Hot Young Widows and Jean Rollin's Bacchanales Sexauelles (a.k.a. Fly Me The French Way) really smolders as the hot to trot servant of the house. She gets a few good scenes here and it's easy to see why the producers would want to capitalize on her look and her ability (and at the same time cater to the sexy maid fetish that seems so popular in French smut).

    Video/Audio/Extras:

The Perverted Maid arrives on MOD/DVD-R in 1.66.1 non-anamorphic widescreen, which would appear to be the movie's original aspect ratio. The image is stable enough and black levels are pretty solid here. Colors look okay even if they do occasionally look shift a bit. There is a bit of visible print damage here and there and there are some minor compression artifacts throughout the presentation as well. This is a decent enough transfer despite its non-anamorphic status.

The disc includes an English language Dolby Digital Mono track but not alternate language or subtitle options. The dialogue is generally pretty clear and the track is free of any hiss or distortion. The odd score used throughout the movie, which sometimes works in some amusingly out of place guitar shredding, sounds pretty solid here too.

No extras on the disc at all.

    The Final Word:

While the storyline in The Perverted Maid may not be all that much to write about, the acting and the production values are strong and the sex enjoyable, steamy and well performed. Worth seeing mainly for the cast!

      Tormented – Movie Review:

The late Bert I. Gordon’s 1963 horror film, ‘Tormented,’ is an effectively spooky ghost story made with an obviously low budget but no less effective for it.
