Reflections Of Evil – Movie Review:

Reflections of Evil is one freaked out, mad-daddy of a film, one that will probably grate the nerves of most viewers like nails on a chalk board. The creation of independent filmmaker Damon Packard, this self-proclaimed 'epic film of mammoth proportions' starts off with an introduction by Tony Curtis, dubbed in the appropriate parts to make it seem as if he's proclaiming the genius of Packard and his film. It’s fucking awesome.

From there we hit a few TV spots, like a vintage mattress commercial

    Versus – Movie Review:

When Versus was released in 2000, it put filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura and actor Tak Sakaguchi on the map. It proved instantly popular with the cult movie crowd and not only played festivals around the world but had some theatrical runs as well. It was released on DVD and then Blu-ray domestically by Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock, and now lives again in this newly remastered two-disc

    Martial Law 1 & 2 – Movie Review:

The two movies that put the mighty Cynthia Rothrock, arguably the greatest American female action star in history, on the map, are now on special (and limited!) edition Blu-ray from Vinegar Syndrome!

    Martial Law:

When the first film opens, a kung-fu cop working for the L.A.P.A. named Sean Thompson (Chad McQueen – son of the great Steve McQueen!), nicknamed ‘Martial Law’ for reasons never properly explained, has disguised himself as a Domino’s Pizza delivery guy to make his way into a jewelry shop where the bad guys currently holding people hostage inside are…

    Sátántangó – Movie Review:

Directed by Hungarian filmmaker Béla Tarr and released in 1994, the seven-and-a-half-hour-long Sátántangó, based on the novel by László Krasznahorkai, is the very definition of a slow burn, but so too is it a completely rewarding piece of arthouse cinema.

My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done – Movie Review:

The first collaboration between David Lynch, here serving as producer, and Werner Herzog, handling directorial duties, 2010's My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? is a weird film. You'd expect it to be, given the fact that it's from the men who gave us Eraserhead and Even Dwarves Started

What is Dynamic: 1? The easy answer is that it’s a compilation DVD that collects some of the short films that director David Lynch shot for his website. A few years back, he decided that he was going to create a bunch of short films using digital video, as it would allow him to work faster and on a smaller budget, and that he’d make this material available to subscribers on his

Tales Of The Uncanny – Movie Review:

This feature length documentary covering the history and importance of the horror anthology picture actually started out as a bonus feature intended to have been included with the Blu-ray release of The Theatre Bizarre but various Covid-19 lockdowns put into place around the world changed all of that. Soon enough, a series of Zoom-recorded interviews and discussions conducted for that featurette took on a life of their own, and director David Gregory found himself with enough material to put together a lengthier, more expansive piece than he originally intended.

The finished product covers a lot of ground, digging pretty deeply

Forgotten Gialli Volume One – Movie Review:

Vinegar Syndrome delivers another trio of ‘forgotten gialli’ in their second boxed set collection.

    French Sex Murders:

Italian director Ferdinando Merighi isn’t up there with the hallowed likes of Argento, Bava or Fulci but he did have a few notable contributions to Italian genre cinema, having worked on a couple of Spaghetti Westerns and helmed this goofy slice of sleazy Giallo cinema, French Sex Murders.

The loopy storyline tells the tale of thief named Antoine (Pietro Martellanza a.k.a. Peter Martel, star of Death Walks At Midnight made the very same year) who heads off to a Parisian brothel run by the matronly Madame Collette (Anita Ekberg of The Killer Nun). When the prostitute that Antoine was with gets killed and he flees the scene,

The Fernando Arrabal Collection Volume 2 – Movie Review:

A founding member of the panic movement (along with Alejandro Jodorowsky and Roland Topor), a chaotic theatre group that performed mainly in Mexico during the 1960s, Fernando Arrabal is not only an accomplished playwright and author, but also a remarkable filmmaker. Cult Epics previously released three of his films and now returns to the Arrabal well a second time with The Fernando Arrabal Collection, Volume Two. The films here aren’t as surreal or as extreme as the earlier pictures but the director’s stamp is still all over them. Here’s what this latest boxed set includes:
