We're eight episodes into this and so far it's pretty interesting. Takes a while to follow because there are a lot of unrelated characters that end up involved and it all ends up making sense. Dylan McDermott's good in it as is Evan Peters. Everyone is, really. Interested to see how it moves from season one to two. It'll be a while though till the next one comes out though.

    I took a chance on the Blu-ray.

If it deteriorates into yet another one of those abused-child-comes-back-for-revenge/justice-on-the-nasty-dad stories I'm going to sell it off at the first hint.

I found it to be a complete insult. My partner liked it enough to watch the whole season, which I typically sat through and witnessed the mess. Found a lot of it laughable and all about the shock factor.

That sounds like Downtown Abbey nights at my house. Is this the American Downton Abbey?

DOWNTON ABBEY is a significantly better show... It's intelligent, well made, engaging, and entertaining. Plus there's Maggie Smith.

Ha, granted, it's entertaining and I'm powerless to resist it, but at times the writing speaks to me like a Python butcher.

I thought it was pretty awesome to start. By the time it got to the last 3 episodes, I couldn't wait for it to end. Great potential that got completely screwed over by bad writing and turned into total stupid.

I dug it. Jessica Lang was fucking awesome. Yeah it got convoluted and soap-operaish at times, but for a network tv show, I was impressed with how far they took it. Liked it a whole lot better than the Walking Fucking Dead. I'll give the second season a go.
