Went to the unplugged show in Seattle last night. It was a half hour set featuring Papa and two Nameless Ghouls followed by a meet-and-greet/autographing. Papa was full of entertaining stage banter and even rocked the kazoo on "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen". It was a really fun little show.

I was gonna go to the Brooklyn one at Rough Trade this Sat. but now I'm instead going on a secret RSP mission.

I think I'm going to see them when they do the full show in NYC though.

Really loving this album! Some really cool guitar work here, heavy Buck Dharma influence. This is a nice companion to the Tribulation album. The bonus tracks on the BB version are live versions of "Year Zero" and "If You Have Ghosts".

"From The Pinnacle To The Pit" is great.

I believe the vinyl version has an exclusive bonus track as well.

I ordered the vinyl yesterday. The bonus track wasn't named, I am hoping it's something besides another live tune - a cover tune maybe.

I could be wrong but I think the bonus track (Zenith) is exclusive to the 10' included in the deluxe box: http://cdon.eu/music/ghost/meliora_-...22%29-33861939

If there's an equivalent US release I haven't heard of it.

Does anybody have the album in hand yet? I'm curious as to what the credits in the liner notes say... The review linked above seems to credit the producer with the songwriting, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't A Ghoul Writer as usual. It sure sounds like his work. Anyway, after listening to it for a few days, this is a really solid album. It's much better than Infestissumam (which I still liked) and right up there with Opus Eponymous. I'm not really feeling Mummy Dust but the rest of it is outstanding. Maybe that track will grow on me.

I have the cd and curiously, there are no songwriting credits. "All selections are performed by Papa Emeritus III and a group of nameless ghouls" but nothing about the writing. If Klas Ahlund did write the songs he didn't stray too far from what they've always sounded like. I pretty much feel the same about the album and its relation to Infestissumam and Opus. This one's a bit of a return to the debut, a good thing I think even though I too like the second album just thought it wasn't as good as Opus.

In a just world, "He Is" would be a monster hit single. That thing gets its hooks in your brain like an alien pod seed.
