I have always greatly appreciated nudity sprinkled into films and my film collection looks like it was sponsored by Mr. Skin. I didn't watch Porky's or Slumber Party Massacre because they had boobs but I enjoyed them much more because they did. I can feel pretty certain about this because I watched films that didn't have nudity, like Raw Deal and Predator, just as much. I really can't disagree more with the notion that boobs on the internet is why there is less nudity in mainstream film. Is it the case for some small minority? Sure, but I believe it has more to do with not wanting to offend women or the men that don't appreciate the objectification of the female form. It makes sense to appeal to the largest base possible.

While I didn't just FFW to the nudity, I wasn't against rewinding for a second or tenth look.

Watching Porky's and going to pornhub are very different experiences. Obviously. Not sure how one effects the other.

Guess I didn't explain it very well, then.

They are of course but the inconnectedness of all things is often more complcatedly connected than it at first seems. The date of the easy availability of porn matches up very well with sex disappearing from mainstream films. Not sure at a first glance what the cause/effect would be but I wouldn't discount it out of hand.

I sometimes would. Hell even even a lot latter I'd be more likely to purchase a giallo if there was the promise of breasts. The promise of gratuitous nudity can make film look like a much more fun watch. TV very much relies on that baser instinct these days. Films obviously don't. After all the pontificating it's probably pretty simple. The budgets of movies are so massive now that the studios can't risk alienating anyone and smaller movies just tend not to be made anymore.

bothers me when people say they like action films then refer to a movie like Iron Man where the majority of the action is green screened
    .

When you're talking Marvel I'd wager the majority of the action isn't even greenscreened, it's flat out animated.

You're right! And I would never refer to an animated film as an action movie.

I'm sure directors do everything they can to avoid shooting nude scenes nowadays. Gone are the days of unnecessary nudity.

You guys have seen HBO and Netflix recently, right?

    A. Directors are telling actresses to get naked all the time - "necessary" or not

    B. Again, TV and Streaming hasn't curbed the "flash of boob" market

I thought we were talking about theatrical movies. Although you do bring up a good point: I guess HBO is where all the nudity went.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Having said that, they really cut back on the nudity in the latter series of Game of Thrones.

Of course, most folks watch their movies at home rather than theaters.

I mentioned Cable and Streaming in the context that there is a dichotomy between feature films and those made for TV (including series)
