Thread: So what'd you get lately?

On a documentary kick as of late. Picked up a couple of good ones (at least I thought so) - Anvil and American Movie.

Not my brand of music but I damn near impulse dropped an Anvil cd or two in the Amazon cart after watching it. Safe to say you have a good one waiting to be seen.

Growing up in Ontario, Anvil was just kind of always around. Helix too. In fact my stepbrother was at one point taking vocal lessons from the lead singer of Helix, which amused me to know end. I was old enough to know who he was, my stepbrother was not and just about shit himself when I played 'Rock You' for him. As the older sibling, I felt it was my duty.

Anyway, yeah, Anvil was just sort of always around in the background of the metal scene when I was into metal in the 80s but no one seemed to really care all that much, which I understand is kind of the focus of the documentary.

I'll make a point of trying to get a disc soon.
