    Vice Squad!

Revisited this one yesterday after not having seen it in years. Most of you probably already know that Wings Hauser basically owns this movie, but hey, Rerun shows up in it for a few minutes. That's kinda rad. It's funny how you remember things wrong. When we put it on I was sure the main hooker was an undercover cop from the get go. Evidently as it plays out that's not the case but I was sure, even like 15 minutes in, that this was the case. Guess my memory is going, but I hadn't seen it since I rented it on VHS so I'll cut myself some slack.

Has Wings ever done anything nearly this good? Not that I've seen.

The Anchor Bay DVD transfer still holds up well but the audio is weak, the levels are low. Would like to see this hit Blu, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Still, all that neon, all those crazy 80s color schemes, those would look cool in a nice HD transfer.

    Rock! Shock! Pop!

ART OF DYING that he also directed was pretty good and sleazy as far as I remember....

Yeah the ART OF DYING is great! Very sleazy!

I also like his two Nico Mastorakis films, THE WIND (1987) and NIGHTMARE AT NOON (1988) (aka, DEATH STREET USA)

Especially since Lionsgate has put little to no effort into actually releasing their StudioCanal titles on Blu-ray. Out of all the titles that used to be with Anchor Bay and Criterion, it seems that they've about a dozen.

I'm also surprised he hasn't seen VICE SQUAD since VHS days!

ART OF DYING is a PM Entertainment production. That right there should put it on everyone's must see list.

I'll definitely make a point of tracking this down.
