    Maybe not quite its first North American home video release. A couple of years ago someone in the States found and showed off this VHS release of the film in a fb group. The poster said it was the full uncut 150 min. version of the film.

    Right, and it's a bootleg. I have a copy of it and it's not very watchable.

    A boot! Bummer! Thanks for the info, Thomas. I wonder what it was copied from since (to the best of my knowledge) the uncut version was never released on home video format, anywhere. An old 16mm print maybe?

    I have one of the Euro dvds that carry the 120 min. version. I had some brief e-mail correspondence with Melinda McDowell 8 years ago and she said it wasn't a legitimate release. Then I asked the label that put it out in Scandinavia (AWE) and they claimed it was legit. Oh well. Just happy the see the dir's cut is now out.
