Scream Factory has this slated for release 10/24/17... SUPPOSEDLY. There was a listing up for it at B&N and a few other online retailers but now it's gone.

    Shout said this on FB:

"There is no truth to this at this time. If and when we can secure a title, we will announce it publicly and confirm it. Thanks."

So that's not a denial what with the 'at this time' text in there. I wonder if this is legit and they're just waiting to announce it formally or if it was a screw up somehow?

**OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION: HELL NIGHT is coming!**

Today we can (finally) provide some more concrete updates on our plans for the 1981 horror favorite HELL NIGHT. Here’s what we can divulge at this time:

    - The Blu-ray & DVD combo will be branded as a "Collector's Edition" that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)

    - The Producer-approved newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from artist Justin Osbourn (Lifeforce, Pumpkinhead, Prince of Darkness). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will showcase the original theatrical poster art design.

    - Extras are still in progress and will be announced sometime in October.

    - National U.S. & Canada Release date is set for 12/12/17. If you pre-order now directly from our website @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6465 it will ship two weeks early plus you’ll receive a FREE exclusive and collectible 18” x 24” rolled poster of the newly-designed key art. Posters will be made at a limited quantity so secure them now!

    - As some of you already know, this title was leaked on several retailer sites prematurely before we could make a proper announce. The reason we couldn’t address it more publicly once that became more widespread is because we were having some technical difficulties. The title was originally planned for a Late Summer release but needed to be delayed because we became faced with an unforeseen and unwelcome scenario that we could not locate any of the original film elements despite trying many avenues to acquire them. Fortunately though we were able to access a good archival print and it is from this element that we will be doing a 4K scan of the film (including hours of intensive restoration work) so that we can get it to look the best it possibly can.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We genuinely share your excitement on this particular film (it’s been highly-requested for years) and can’t wait for the final product!

    "***HELL NIGHT Update***

Hey guys, sorry but we have to report a minor delay for the release of our hotly-anticipated Collector's Edition of HELL NIGHT. The new release date is 1/2/18. (Although if you order it directly from our site @ https://goo.gl/okU5MV it will ship before the holidays.)

But the reason for the move is a good one as we did it because we needed a little more time to secure some truly fantastic extras. (Rest assured, this disc will be packed.) We will announce full details before the end of the month but we can confirm today that we have a brand new interview with Linda Blair (shot yesterday, in fact) and a special cast reunion piece that will be pure gold for all HELL NIGHT fans.

Again, apologies for the minor delay, but we believe this title is worth the wait and getting the end result the best that we can.

Thanks and have a good weekend."

    Update!

    ***HELL NIGHT Update***

We are very excited to (finally) lay out the final details for our Collector’s Edition Blu-ray & DVD combo of HELL NIGHT today! We have much to communicate so please read the entire status update.

First off, just a reminder that we did have to delay the release. The new street date is January 2, 2018. However, if you order early from our site @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/hell-...ector-s-editi… you’ll receive it two weeks early and receive an 18” x 24” poster of the newly-commissioned artwork from artist Justin Osbourn.

Now, on to the extras. We have nearly 4 HOURS of new bonus features! There’s so much that we couldn’t fit them all on the DVD disc so several will be exclusive to the Blu-ray format. The breakdown is as follows...

    BLU-RAY DISC

    · NEW 4K Scan of the film taken from the best surviving archival print (DTS HD Master audio mono)
    · NEW interviews with actors Linda Blair, Peter Barton, Vincent Van Patten, Suki Goodwin, Kevin Brophy and Jenny Neumann
    · Audio Commentary with Linda Blair, Tom DeSimone, Irwin Yablans and Bruce Cohn Curtis
    · Original Theatrical Trailer & TV spots
    · Blu-ray Disc Exclusives:
NEW interview with Director Tom DeSimone
NEW interview with Producer Bruce Cohn Curtis
NEW interview with Writer Randolph Feldman
NEW – Anatomy of the Death Scenes with Tom DeSimone, Randolph Feldman, Make-up artist Pam Peitzman, Art Director Steven G. Legler and Special Effects artist John Eggett
NEW - On Location at the Kimberly Crest House with Tom DeSimone
NEW – Gothic Design in Hell Night with Steven G. Legler
    Original Radio spot
Photo Gallery featuring rare, never-before-seen stills

    DVD DISC

    · NEW 4K Scan of the film taken from the best surviving archival print (Dolby Digital mono)
    · NEW interviews with actors Linda Blair, Peter Barton, Vincent Van Patten, Suki Goodwin, Kevin Brophy and Jenny Neumann
    · Audio Commentary with Linda Blair, Tom DeSimone, Irwin Yablans and Bruce Cohn Curtis
    · Original Theatrical Trailer & TV spots

Finally, we want to address the new transfer up front. This new transfer comes from a 4K scan of the best archival 35mm film print. After an exhaustive search for the original film elements, the print was the only available element we could work with. We did extensive color correction and film restoration to clean up the film damage. The print was missing some minor footage, so we had to insert some standard definition footage (which we also restored) to deliver the complete film. Despite some these challenges we are pleased with the end results and hope you will agree soon!

    Standard definition inserts? Ugh.
