    After a devastating nuclear war life the remains of the civilization in the ruins of the major cities. There are strict laws and the military developing artificial life forms to "population control". The shanty mo (Dylan Mcdermott) doesn't know what he's taking, as he's the head of a humanoid robot and buys him his artist friend Jill (Stacey Travis) to the sculptures welding.     With his long film debut hardware established itself the native South Africans Richard Stanley (Dust Devil) as an outstanding genre-Stylist: How James Cameron at the original terminator he created with low-budget freedom a not only visually overwhelming cyberpunk-Apocalypse on the confrontation of man and Superior future machine.     Looks great indeed. It's a wonderful film as well. The question is if I like it enough to spend probably like €30-40 to buy it on bluray for the second time. Had I not already had the short films on the Dust Devil release from Subversive and the old UK blu of Hardware, I wouldn't have hesitated though.

    I thought Dust Devil was good and I think Richard Stanley is a very interesting dude. But I thought Hardware was just "okay." It's not bad but once the carnage starts, it just feels rushed and lacks tension. It has some good gore at least.

    Excellent film, but I already have a blu of it. Dust Devil is also great. A damn shame what happened to poor Richards career

    PS why is this in international? Do you count these as african cause of R. Stanley being South african?

    Yep. I mean, I know it wasn't made there and that it was mostly shot in the UK - didn't he shoot part of it in Morocco though?

    Seems a step up from my previous edition. Might splurge on it, give this is one of my all time favourite films.
