A touch of genie is going to be the edited softcore version right?

  2. #62
A Touch of Genie is an edited version. There wasn't a softcore version of the film made originally. Vinegar Syndrome has the unedited film on Blu-ray.

What a waste of time film movement says they are doing definitive versions of sarnos films and they release a movie edited

Hopefully vol. 8 isn't too far off. Inga is a must-have.

Inca is the best of Joe Sarno's movies that I have seen so I hope it's out soon. I am a bit annoyed they edited a touch of genie I mean they claim to be doing definitive editions and they edit his films how lame if they can't take some sex then they should be releasing Looney tunes cartoons instead.

They're definitive non-XXX versions of films . Seriously, I doubt Raso wants to do blu rays of any films with explicit content. It limits the market.

    Details on Vol. 4:

Upcoming Blu-Ray Double Features to Showcase
New 2k Restorations of Sin in the Suburbs and Confessions of a Young American Housewife

March 12, 2018 Fair Lawn NJ – Film restoration and preservation organization Film Media confirmed today it has completed restoration on the contents of Volume 4 in its critically acclaimed Joseph W. Sarno Retrospect series: Volume 4, scheduled for release late Summer, will showcase Sarno’s stand-out 1964 feature Sin in the Suburbs alongside one of his most critically and commercially successful films of the 1970s, Confessions of a Young American Housewife.

Additionally, Film Media provided the following detail on the contents of the upcoming Blu-ray double feature releases:

Joseph W. Sarno Retrospect Series Vol. 4: Sin in the Suburbs / Confessions of a Young American Housewife

Sexploitation auteur Joe Sarno first explored the dark side of the American dream in his 1964 drama, Sin in the Suburbs, hailed by DVDDrive-In as “a ground-breaking masterpiece” and “the first in the ‘suburban sex secrets’ subgenre.” 10 years later, his return to this theme resulted in one of the most critically and commercially successful films of his career, Confessions of a Young American Housewife.

Sin in the Suburbs (1964) - Audrey Campbell (Olga) stars as Geraldine Lewis, a lonely housewife and mother who distracts herself with racy friends and a secret affair. Discovered in the arms of another man, Geraldine immerses herself in a secret sex club, only to find a shocking secret revealed!

Confessions of a Young American Housewife (1974) - New York sophisticates Carole and Eddie spice up their sex life by swapping partners with their close friends, Anna and Pete. An unexpected visit from Carole’s young, attractive and recently widowed mother Jennifer throws a temporary wrench into their plans, but the quartet are soon back in action after Pete tries and fails to seduce Jennifer in the kitchen. Intoxicated by life and lust, Jennifer begins a May-December romance. Stars Rebecca Brooke and Jennifer Wells.

Warm Nights and Hot Pleasures (1964) - Bonus Feature - Never Before Released on any Home Video Format. In 1964’s Warm Nights and Hot Pleasures, Joe Sarno tells the tale of three ambitious college girls who head to New York City, eager to make their mark on Broadway. Short on funds, the girls rent a room from a men’s magazine model and are soon immersed in a lurid world of wild parties, risque men’s clubs and sleazy casting couches. Lessons are learned and hearts are broken as each one decides just how far she will go for stardom. Featuring Bettie Page-style bondage and female wrestling, Warm Nights and Hot Pleasures is a sultry snapshot of Manhattan of the early 1960s. Stars Marla Ellis and Joe Santos.

A new essay by film historian Tim Lucas and copious extras (listed below) round out this definitive edition of two Sarno classics, newly restored from the original film elements and presented for the first time to home entertainment in high definition. Special thanks to Something Weird, Lisa Petrucci, AGFA, Retro-Seduction Cinema, Mike Heenan Archive and the Anthony Timpson Archive. This very special presentation will be released on Blu-Ray and Streaming by New York based distributor Film Movement. Dates to be announced.

I wonder if the version of CONFESSIONS is the uncut version or the cut version that they released a number of years ago?

Great news about SIN IN THE SUBURBS. Kubrick's EYES WIDE SHUT seems to me to have been cut from the same cloth as SIN IN THE SUBURBS. More Audrey Campbell is always welcome. I wonder if we'll ever get the Olga films in Blu-ray?
