Terrance Dicks passed away. He was a pretty important part of the show's history.

Started watching Series 10 last night, grabbed S10 Pt1 on Blu-ray dirt cheap. Off to an okay start. I like Bill at the beginning of this run better than Clara at the end of her run.

Read a shitload of Terrance Dicks' Doctor Who novelizations as a kid. There was a time in the UK when they never repeated the shows and they weren't on VHS so the books were the only option.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

Me too. I imagine those books weren't great but I loved them when I was a kid. In Australia Doctor Who was on repeats every single weekday but in a way the books were better because you could ignore the picture on the cover and visualise Tom Baker being the Dr in every story.

Damn, I was an unimaginative child. I just went with the Doctor on the cover (not that I knew much about the three before Baker other than the image). Feel like I missed out there.
